SPACEWEATHER: Saturn Equinox, Co-Rotating Solar Storms

Saturn and Titan with its shadow, Taken by Gregg Ruppel on July 18, 2025 @ Oro Valley AZ, Gregg Ruppel is a member of the Int’l Dark Sky Association. Gregg charts the dark skies over New Mexico and Arizona, as well as sharing his astrophotography on his website at https://greggsastronomy.com/ (Pay forward a visit! Oro Valley, AZ is part of my old stomping grounds where I was a member of the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Assn.)

TITAN’S SHADOW ON SATURN: Saturn is experiencing an equinox. Here on Earth, that means it’s Saturn’s “shadow season.” For the first time in 15 years we can watch the shadows of Saturn’s moons cross the planet’s cloudtops. Gregg Ruppel photographed this example from Oro Valley, Arizona.

“This is Titan and its shadow,” says Ruppel. “I caught them at 3 am on July 18th.” (Photo Details: Steady seeing at 3am local time. C11 w/2X Barlow, ASI294MC Pro, best 7280 frames.)

Saturn’s strangely Earthlike moon Titan has a diameter of about 5,150 kilometers. It’s the second-largest moon in the solar system, second only to Jupiter’s Ganymede. Because of these dimensions, it casts a huge shadow, which is easy to see through backyard telescopes.

Titan’s shadow transits will repeat at approximately 15-day intervals for the next 2 months. Next up: Aug. 3rdHere is a calendar of far-out photo ops.

CO-ROTATING INTERACTION REGION: A co-rotating interaction region (CIR) could hit Earth on July 23rd, sparking a G1-class geomagnetic storm. CIRs are transition zones between fast- and slow-moving streams of solar wind. They contain shock waves and enhanced magnetic fields much like those of CMEs.

NOAA forecasters estimate a 40% chance of M-class solar flares today. The most likely sources are sunspots 4136 and 4143, which have unstable ‘beta-gamma’ magnetic fields. NASA/SDO

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

Saturn carries its weight as an ancient symbol of the Sun, and the taskmaster that carries out the Law. We might compare it to the Old Testament Laws. Sirius, the Dog Star is the Light of the New, referred to the Sun of our Heart. The Dog Star makes its pre-eminent position over the pyramids of Giza at the Lion’s Gate. When Saturn visits your astronomical Sign, there’s an extra weight on your shoulders to get your affairs in order and to abide by the Law. Though, it’s also said that Saturn leaves a gift behind when it finally moves on after 2 years.  The equinox marks a new Season on Saturn.

There is work to be done at the Spring and Fall Equinox to draw in the abundance of the harvest. First we had to plant the Seed of our Intention, then we have to harvest. Saturn’s equinox is aligned with Earth’s Season of Harvest. We’ll bear the weight of the Seeds that were planted in the Spring.

The trecena of CIMI is the Sign of a transition on the scale of Life and Death. CIMI represents the Comforter, the Holy Spirit that cares for those who Love the Lord and follow the Highest Order to Love God, first of all with all our heart, and like the first, love our Self and our Neighbors the same.

The Harvest carries out the Balance of Divine Justice by God’s Hand of Divine Authority. It’s always for our own best good. A Time of Silence is chance to embrace our limitations that remind us the scale and the power of God’s Grace.

We are given Comfort so we can carry out “the work” of Compassionate Love for the whole who battle unseen forces of evil on Earth. We’re all easily led astray when we’re in the chaos of a major life change.

Psalm 46:10 NIV
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.

CIMI is the 1st trecena of the second season of the Tzolk’in round, found in Volume 1. There’s something more to see when you discern the meaning of Time for yourself. The Truth is revealed by the thoughts on your mind. The Human calendar is written within as Humans course of Migration, thoughts in a Divine Order that lead us back to the place where we belong.

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 11: Resolution; 11 assists every new thing to find its place in the universe in the process of ‘fitting in.’ some modifications must occur. Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions facilitating change, simplification and improvement.

Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons.

A GOOD DAY TO: Sit on a rock.

Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’   O’JJ: Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes.  Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative.  Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.

The totem Owl holds the power to see through the darkness and to see what’s behind. Our past is the treasure that brings the Truth to Light.
