More Signs of Beauty on the Way

Liriope Royal Purple Shrub

3 Years in the Making

In Washington State the Liriope look like dense shrubs with leaves that stay green all winter. In the Spring of 2022 I planted a row along the front of the house with dreams that they’d do the same. I found out they grow in many climates. This may look like a sad example, but this is the first time it’s bloomed. That’s a good sign that they are taking hold and Mother Earth is bringing them to life. They are evergreen through the winter – and we saw some sub-zero temperatures last year.

In time they could look like this.

They survived a first summer of extended weeks of summer at 100F, when the yard looked like a desert. In 2023 they managed to hold their own in spite of a lack of proper attention, while I was recovering from a fractured pelvic bone, and pretty much the same in 2024. Last year I opted for plastic flowers.

I didn’t intend to plant a garden this year, but one by one manifested a potted herb garden near the front door that’s doing very well.

The mint I planted has been covered in butterflies that look like mini-Monarchs. And  some marigolds and zinnias have bloomed to add some color to the basil and lemon balm.

The Sweet Autumn Clematis, an invader, has taken over a Crepe Myrtle bush I spent a year trying to kill. They are beautiful and they will grow in hostile territories of extreme heat. All you have to do to grow Crepe Myrtle is nothing and they will take over. Whoever planted this one placed it too close to the house. They refuse to stop growing. (Don’t plant them anywhere near your foundation.) The Clematis is known to take over and smother other vegetation. So far, I’ve left the Clemantis and the Crepe Myrtle to fight it out. The smell is heavenly, much like honeysuckle. If you wanted to cover a trellis, this stuff would accomplish the task in no time.

If the Crepe Myrtle finds a way to bloom, it will be a bouquet of pink and white like last year.

Fall flowers may be my favorite. The perennials are unexpected after you’ve killed everything else. A small pot of last year’s purple chrysanthemums have raised themselves from the dead. I’ll find a permanent place for them on the other side of the front steps. All in all, a very successful no-garden garden this year. I take it as a very good sign for this Autumn and the years ahead.

The Liriope chose a perfect day to show their colors! Washington is not the only evergreen state! The only advantage is that there are NO BUGS. You can walk through the forest without fear of being bitten by anything. (A perfect place for the homeless encampments that have taken over there.) No wonder.

The rents are sky high. That’s one of the main reasons I moved back to Kansas. A change in location is never the answer to everything. No matter where we go, humans will take over for better or worse.

The good news is that in God’s light we can thrive anywhere, and come up smelling like a rose.

much love, Debra

THE TRECENA OF SERPENT/CHICCHAN: AWAKENING THE GIFTS OF CONSCIOUSNESS
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
1 Serpent/CHICCHAN (chik ‘kahn), Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI, Destiny Kin: 105, Position 5

THE TRECENA OF SERPENT/CHICCHAN: AWAKENING THE GIFTS OF SPIRIT

The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.

It only takes 13 days to see how Faith is always raised to Knowing the Truth of Answered Prayers. You only have to track your thoughts. Record the matters on your mind in a journal to see how your perspective is changed by a Divine Order of Thoughts.

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.

Serpent/CHICCHAN is the 3nd trecena of the 2nd season of the Tzolk’in round, found in Volume 1. There’s something more to see when you discern the meaning of Time for yourself. The meaning of time is revealed by the thoughts on your mind.

NOTE: Tone 1 reflects the 1st Light of Divine Inspiration as the “legend” of this chapter of Time. If you forget where you are, return to Tone 1 to see the “First Light” of Divine Inspiration. You can use the Tzolk’in calculator to gain insight on any date in the future or the past.

1 Serpent/CHICCHAN, Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI – Day 1 of 13 in the trecena of 1 Serpent CHICCHAN

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), who’s wisdom and Tzolk’in date calculator is preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 1:  Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for flexibility and fluidity.

A CHICCHAN DREAM THAT MANIFESTED CREATION:
1 Serpent/CHICCHAN (July 8, 2018) inspired a Pilgrimage to Ek’ Balam, the manifestation of an “impossible” dream. The “first light” was an offering to go for the Day of the Dead festival. Those plans fell apart, but I knew I had to go on my own, when I discovered that October 31, 2018 was 12 Sun/AHAU, Ian Xel Lungold’s Mayan Birthday, 13 years after his passing.  That was only the first of endless signs that confirmed one Time and Place I was divinely intended to be. God created Time and Place in a Divine Order.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. 1. Kansas, eh? One of my longest known first friends lives in Kansas. I think she’s in Kansas City. I have only been to Kansas by way of Missouri, over 20 years ago. I used to work at Lincoln University in Jeff city, MO. I loved it! And I loved lake of the Ozarks.
I hear you about the Crepe Myrtle. We had a ton of it in Florida.
