SPACEWEATHER: Aurora Season Begins

CME Arrived Yesterday, Action Should Intensify Today

The best time to see the auroras is from late August to early April, with optimal conditions around the equinoxes in March and September. The Earth’s magnetic field is more susceptible to solar wind during the equinoxes. The Fall and Spring Equinoxes are when the Light of the Feathered Serpent descends the stairs of El Castillo, the calendar pyramid of Chichen Itza. There are generally more frequent and vibrant displays, during the solar maximum of each 11-year solar cycle.

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 08/20/2025

AURORA SEASON BEGINS: Around the Arctic Circle, it’s been a long summer of bright nights and no auroras. Now the seasons are changing. Jónína Óskarsdóttir sends the picture above from Fáskrúðsfjörður, Iceland.

“Just after 1 am on Aug. 20th, the sky filled with enormous green auroras,” says Óskarsdóttir. “What a wonderful start of the new season!”

The auroras she photographed were sparked by a stream of solar wind blowing faster than 600 km/s. Earth is still inside the stream today, and the darkness will be a few minutes longer. The second day of the new season could be even better than the first!

GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: The action started yesterday. Minor G1-class geomagnetic storms broke out on Aug. 19th when Earth entered a fast-moving stream of solar wind. The action could intensify today. NOAA forecasters expect a CME to graze Earth’s magnetic field on Aug. 20th, potentially boosting storm levels to G2. High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras after local nightfall.

THE SUN TODAY:
The face of the Sun is nearly blank with only 3 sunspots. Though, Earth resides in the stream of Solar winds blowing from coronal holes on the Sun.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

El Castillo is the temple to Kulkulkan/Quetzlcoatl, known as the Feathered Serpent. Today is the 1st Day of the 13-Day cycle guided by Serpent/CHICCHAN, representing the Force and the Light of the Lord of Creation. We are moved by the Light that stirs a Quickening of Spirit. The ancient Maya must have been inspired by the auroras. The Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena is Time ordered for Divine Inspiration that ignites our passion to create.

Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

1 Serpent/CHICCHAN is Time for the Light from Above to be shared below. CHICCHAN represents the Force of the Light of the Feathered Serpent that will guide us over the next 13 days. It’s Time to Look for the Signs. CHICCHAN awakens our Spiritual Gifts of Knowing by a Feeling within. Pay attention to your gut instincts and follow what your heart leads you to do. Time is ordered for a Spiritual Experience so we can See, Hear, and Know by Feeling the Truth.

CHICCHAN’s energy is compared to the Yod – being touched by the Hand of God. The thoughts for the Day on the Christian calendar remind us that there is Only One God. He rules the Creation and there are no others before him. Tone 1 is the First Light of Divine Inspiration. Look for the Signs and journal the Truth of your own experience. Serpent/CHICCHAN holds Position 5, a symbol of Empowerment for Change.

THE TRECENA OF SERPENT/CHICCHAN: AWAKENING THE GIFTS OF SPIRIT

The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.

It only takes 13 days to see how Faith is always raised to Knowing the Truth of Answered Prayers. You only have to track your thoughts. Record the matters on your mind in a journal to see how your perspective is changed by a Divine Order of Thoughts.

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.

Serpent/CHICCHAN is the 3nd trecena of the 2nd season of the Tzolk’in round, found in Volume 1. There’s something more to see when you discern the meaning of Time for yourself. The meaning of time is revealed by the thoughts on your mind.

NOTE: Tone 1 reflects the 1st Light of Divine Inspiration as the “legend” of this chapter of Time. If you forget where you are, return to Tone 1 to see the “First Light” of Divine Inspiration. You can use the Tzolk’in calculator to gain insight on any date in the future or the past.

1 Serpent/CHICCHAN, Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI – Day 1 of 13 in the trecena of 1 Serpent CHICCHAN

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), who’s wisdom and Tzolk’in date calculator is preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 1:  Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for flexibility and fluidity.

A CHICCHAN DREAM THAT MANIFESTED CREATION:
1 Serpent/CHICCHAN (July 8, 2018) inspired a Pilgrimage to Ek’ Balam, the manifestation of an “impossible” dream. The “first light” was an offering to go for the Day of the Dead festival. Those plans fell apart, but I knew I had to go on my own, when I discovered that October 31, 2018 was 12 Sun/AHAU, Ian Xel Lungold’s Mayan Birthday, 13 years after his passing.  That was only the first of endless signs that confirmed one Time and Place I was divinely intended to be. God created Time and Place in a Divine Order.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
