An End and a Beginning
The fall equinox will occur on September 22, 2025, in the Northern Hemisphere, marking the official start of autumn. In the Northern Hemisphere, fall begins on September 22, 2025, at 18:20 GMT. In the Southern Hemisphere, the next fall equinox will arrive next year — on March 20, 2026. The autumnal equinox (as well as spring equinox) is the moment when neither of the Earth’s hemispheres is inclined towards or away from the Sun.
Here are the autumn equinox timings for different time zones in the Northern Hemisphere in 2025:
British Summer Time (BST, GMT +1): September 22, 07:20 p.m. BST
Central European Summer Time (CEST, GMT +2): September 22, 08:20 p.m. CEST
Eastern European Summer Time (EEST, GMT +3): September 22, 09:20 p.m. EEST
Moscow Standard Time (MSK, GMT +3): September 22, 09:20 p.m. MSK
China Standard Time (CST, GMT +8): September 23, 02:20 a.m. CST
Japan Standard Time (JST, GMT +9): September 23, 03:20 a.m. JST
Eastern Daylight Time (EDT, GMT -4): September 22, 02:20 p.m. EDT
Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, GMT -7): September 22, 11:20 a.m. PDT
If you want to know exactly when the event will happen where you live, try the Sky Tonight app. Just open the search window in the app and type “equinox”. You’ll see the equinoxes’ dates and times, all set for your local time.
A New Moon offers the Time to set our Intentions for Tomorrow
The eclipse will begin on September 21 at 17:29 GMT (1:29 p.m. EDT) and end at 21:53 GMT (5:53 p.m. EDT), lasting over four hours. The moment of greatest eclipse will occur at 19:41 GMT (3:41 p.m. EDT). Unfortunately, most of the world will miss this event entirely — the eclipse path is confined to the Southern Hemisphere’s remote regions.
This New Moon begins the cycle of the Harvest Moon, October 7, 2025. The Harvest Moon multiplies to abundance the Seeds we sowed in Spring. It’s Time to take stock of yesterday’s work, and to make plans for the future of tomorrow.
When does Daylight Saving Time end? You might expect Daylight Saving Time to end right with the autumn equinox, but that’s not the case. In many regions of the Northern Hemisphere, the equinox occurs while DST is still in effect. For example, in the United States, Daylight Saving Time starts on the second Sunday in March and ends only on the first Sunday in November.

THE EQUINOX SHADOW OF TITAN: Earth is having an equinox, and so is Saturn. Saturn’s causes dark shadows to glide across the planet’s cloudtops. Philip Smith photographed the phenomenon on Sept. 20th from his backyard observatory in Manorville, New York:

“I am happy I had the opportunity to image this rare historical event,” says Smith. “Titan’s shadow was strikingly visible even with relatively poor seeing conditions.”
Shadow transits like this occur only during Saturn’s equinoxes when sunlight strikes the planet’s rings and moons almost edge-on. Among Saturn’s menagerie of 274 known satellites, Titan’s shadow stands out. Titan itself is larger than the planet Mercury, and the shadow it casts is immense.
“Tethys and Tethys’ shadow transited over Saturn at the same time, but the smaller moon did not show up in my image after processing it,” notes Smith.
During Saturn’s equinoxes, Titan shadow appears every two weeks. The next (and final) transit of the current equinox comes on Oct. 6th. After that, observers will have to wait until the 2040s for another chance to see the shadow play.

SATURN’S RINGS AT OPPOSITION: If you have a telescope, point it at Saturn tonight. The ringed planet is at opposition, which makes the rings extra bright. Why? Saturn’s rings are made of ice. Sunlight directly backscattered from ice particles causes the ring system to shine more than usual for a few days around opposition. It’s called the Seeliger effect, and you can see it in Phil Smith’s Saturn photo, below. Look for Saturn rising in the east after sunset and soaring almost overhead at midnight.
NOTE: Saturn is known as the “taskmaster” planet, who enforces the Laws of the Universe. Saturn puts an end to anything we’ve been putting off to another day.

Time by the Christian Calendar
The Christian calendar reminds us this is Time to pray for everyone. Heaven on Earth is a promise offered to the whole. The tides are turning on the New Moon. By the Jewish calendar tomorrow is the “Feast of Trumpets” heralding a New Beginning in the Year of the Lord’s Favor. It’s Time to be aligned with God’s Intention for our new beginning.

Lectionary: 135
Reading 1, Amos 8:4-7
Hear this, you who trample upon the needy
and destroy the poor of the land!
“When will the new moon be over,” you ask,
“that we may sell our grain,
and the sabbath, that we may display the wheat?
We will diminish the ephah,
add to the shekel,
and fix our scales for cheating!
We will buy the lowly for silver,
and the poor for a pair of sandals;
even the refuse of the wheat we will sell!”
The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob:
Never will I forget a thing they have done!
Responsorial Psalm, Psalm 113:1-2, 4-6, 7-8
R. (cf. 1a, 7b) Praise the Lord who lifts up the poor.
or:
R. Alleluia.
Praise, you servants of the LORD,
praise the name of the LORD.
Blessed be the name of the LORD
both now and forever.
R. Praise the Lord who lifts up the poor.
or:
R. Alleluia.
High above all nations is the LORD;
above the heavens is his glory.
Who is like the LORD, our God, who is enthroned on high
and looks upon the heavens and the earth below?
R. Praise the Lord who lifts up the poor.
or:
R. Alleluia.
He raises up the lowly from the dust;
from the dunghill he lifts up the poor
to seat them with princes,
with the princes of his own people.
R. Praise the Lord who lifts up the poor.
or:
R. Alleluia.
Reading 2, 1 Timothy 2:1-8
Beloved:
First of all, I ask that supplications, prayers,
petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone,
for kings and for all in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life
in all devotion and dignity.
This is good and pleasing to God our savior,
who wills everyone to be saved
and to come to knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God.
There is also one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as ransom for all.
This was the testimony at the proper time.
For this I was appointed preacher and apostle
— I am speaking the truth, I am not lying —,
teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
It is my wish, then, that in every place the men should pray,
lifting up holy hands, without anger or argument.
Alleluia, Cf. 2 Corinthians 8:9
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Though our Lord Jesus Christ was rich, he became poor,
so that by his poverty you might become rich.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

TRECENA OF MONKEY/CHUEN: THE DAWN OF OUR CREATION
The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.
It only takes 13 days to see how Faith is always raised to Knowing the Truth of Answered Prayers. You only have to track your thoughts. Record the matters on your mind in a journal to see how your perspective is changed by a Divine Order of Thoughts.
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.
Monkey/CHUEN is the first trecena in the 3rd Season of the Tzolk’in round, found in Volume 2.
NOTE: Tone 1 reflects the 1st Light of Divine Inspiration as the “legend” of this chapter of Time. If you forget where you are, return to Tone 1 to see the “First Light” of Divine Inspiration. You can use the Tzolk’in calculator to gain insight on any date in the future or the past.
7 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI) – Day 7 of 13, the 1 Monkey/CHUEN trecena of Creation
CORE DAYS: The 7th Uinal of the Tzolk’in represent the center column of 20-days, which carry the Intention of Balancing. In the Center we are returned to Unity. Our discernment of duality comes into balance. The Maya believed this to be the axis mundi – the center of the world that connects Heaven and Earth, where the four directions meet; where communication from lower realms may ascend to higher ones and blessings from higher realms may descend to the lower realm and disseminated to all. The Core Days may be experienced as a time of personal mystery where the crystalline structure is formed with the wings to fly.
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), who’s wisdom and Tzolk’in date calculator is preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.
Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.
A GOOD DAY TO: Give thanks to Mother Earth for all her gifts.
Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement and perpetual motion, Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way. “The Northern Cross is the Tree of Life, Beside the Milky Way River & Perched atop is Guwi’ sguwi, the Cherokee Heron Spirit Bird, comparable to the Phoenix that rises from the ashes of the past.
[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
