The Ways of the World: The Beginning of TV

Queen for a Day – Early TV Series

In 1948-50 they were still learning how to sell on TV. Surely, the investors in the technology were sold on the Return on their Investment (ROI). I watched this!!! The script started with a hard-luck story that could bring you to tears. Then the sorrowful woman was crowned Queen for a Day. The REST of the program was the parade of PRIZES. The top prize was always an “automatic washer and dryer.” They explained all the cool features and the VALUE! In between each prize we watched the tears of joy on the woman’s face after every presentation. I remember being pinned to this show of COMMERCIALS, just for the thrill of it.

But wait, there’s one more…

This is Your Life

In the TV series (1952-1961), “This is Your Life,” the host surprised guests and then took them through a retrospective of their lives in front of an audience, including appearances by colleagues, friends, and family. The host, consulting his “red book”, narrated while presenting the subject with family members, friends, and others who had affected his or her life. (Wikipedia)

The host honored the Guest who always had a story – either a challenge, or who offered excellence on a small scale that’s seldom acknowledged. Then the reveal is, “If you wonder why we invited you here…. (he pulls out the book), THIS IS YOUR LIFE! “Now I have someone back stage who is with us today to share about you….” The “old acquaintance” spoke from behind the curtain. The guest may or may not recognize their voice – until they tell the story of how they had blessed their life.

There were no prizes, except for a grand reunion party on stage by the end. (An emotional drama.) The series ran way longer than “Queen for a Day.”

What would “Queen for a Day” offer as the ultimate prize today? A self-driving Tesla? 🙂 Or, Credit for a total makeover with cosmetic procedures, head to toe? Queens are SUCH Objects of affection. 🙂

“This is Your Life” was Divinely Inspired at a time when veterans were struggling with depression. It started from one soldier that was having a particularly hard time and a commanding officer shared his story with someone who connected him to a TV producer to Honor someone who felt forgotten. It was such a hit, it turned into a series.

We wouldn’t know the difference if it was a Red Book when everything was “black and white.” But I have Faith it was a Red Book, by the Divine Intentions of the Creators.

This is OUR Life. It makes a difference when the Intention is Divine in the beginning. If you love it, you’ll pour your heart into it. And, Love is a Vibration in Perfect Harmony with Sound of the Uni-verse.

Love, Debra
PS. There’s benefits in aging – when you can look back and laugh at how crazy life is and how the Truth that took a lifetime to learn was always right in front of your face.

PSS. If you have seen these, PLEASE, tell me I’m not the only one!

7 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’) – Day 7 of 13 of the 1 Dog/OC trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Free Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 7: Reflective; 7 stands as the mirror to divide light and dark and reflects all that is and is not. 7 is associated with the source of creation and the flow of divine will. 7 establishes the purpose to current and future goals.

Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign, enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons.

A GOOD DAY TO: Sit on a rock.

Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’ O’JJ: Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes.  Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative.  Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.

  1. You are definitely not alone Debra.  I remember both of those TV programs… as a naive teenager, seduced by a  give-away program…and now the “news” is all about taking-away all the give-away helping programs. Go figure…  how is AI  helping us be compassionate beings???…God help us ONE AND ALL.  Your Sister, Pauline…aka Moreah Godwin
