MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

4 Deer/MANIK
Greetings Kin,
As we return to the beginning of a new Tzolk’in cycle, Deer/MANIK falls in step with the energy that will stabilize our journey. Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign of the Mayan Priest, God’s Hands in the world. Deer/MANIK is symbolized as a grasping hand with fingers completing a circuit with a thread of ether/plasma that connects us to God.
GREEN DAY: Today is the second of 10 consecutive “Galactic Activation Portals” that magnify our conscious awareness, so that we may “feel” things more clearly.

4 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
GREEN DAY: Today is the second of 10 consecutive “Galactic Activation Portals” that will magnify our experiences. This is a thinning of the veil, that remains open for 10 consecutive days. The trecena of Seed/KAN has the power to bring forward the conscious awareness of the inherent power of Spirit through the 5th Element of Ether.

Journey of Dynamic Consciousness: Day 4
We are completing the 260-day spiritual journey of the Tzolk’in as observed by the Quiche/Maya region of Guatemala. The preparations are already underway for a celebration and the sacred initiation of the Mayan Daykeepers – those who carry on a spiritual path that was led by our ancestors. As we are returning to the center of a most sacred place, we can see the end of our journey just ahead.
The last steps of any journey require more effort than the beginning. MANIK is the Day Sign of Spiritual Tools. If we look within to our feelings of limitation, Deer can bring a solution. Deer stands silently in its own power. Our stability will come from standing in our Truth and holding on to the sacred vision we carry.
This is the end of a sacred journey that calls us to approach it with reverence and humility, remembering it was the wisdom passed down by our ancestors that carried us to a new awakening. Together, each of the 260 Kin of the Tzolk’in lead us into an expanding consciousness.
Remember that we are still moving through the chaos of new creation. This is a time to cast off any doubts based on a reflection of a work that is yet unfinished. We hold our power as faith in ourselves to have the perseverance to keep going with the single-minded faith that each step is ordered in God’s plan.
To all my relations, may we find our stability in vigilant stillness and press on to experience the fullness of God’s blessing. May we honor our feelings and open our hearts so we may know the Divine Purpose for which we were made.
