MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 11 brings the Intention of Resolution. Some modifications are needed to establish a Higher Understanding. “Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions Facilitating Change, simplification and improvement.”
Tone 11 is the day the shaman climb the mountain to bring an offering to the Highest Altars. The purpose of their journey is to seek Divine Guidance.
CIB is the Day Sign that connects us to the Wisdom of our Ancestors. This is a day to Honor those who preserved the Sacred Wisdom. The Wisdom of Spiritual Transformation is possibly the greatest body of work recorded throughout time, and the Greatest Inheritance left by our Ancestors.
The glyph illustrates the mind in its Highest State of Consciousness. The rays expanding in all directions represent the Light of Illumination and Forgiveness. Wisdom/CIB is a Yellow Day Sign of the South, the direction of our relationships with one another and with the Natural World. Yellow is the color of Completion. An Act of Forgiveness will restore us to Right Relationship, and open the door to an Illumination of Spirit.
Our ability to Grow and Change requires our admission of an understanding greater than our own. We must accept that even our Truth is subject to change. Our forgiveness is needed to facilitate these changes. Without forgiveness, we make change more difficult for one another.
Most of our emotional “injuries” are based in misunderstanding. We can easily confuse thoughtlessness with acts of intention. Now that I think about it, I attribute most of my own “injuries” to thoughtlessness. I can even hear the voice in my head, “How thoughtless!” We live in a world of constant distractions. Thoughtlessness is likely our most common shortcoming.
Forgiving others may be the best way to see where We Need forgiveness. “We add as much misery to the world when we take offense, as when we give it.” Taking offense is evidence of our own thoughtlessness – mindlessly assigning the blame to someone else.
We all need forgiveness as our life is a Journey of Change. We hope to walk a higher path today than we did yesterday. When we learn to walk, sometimes we fall down. When we let go of our disappointment, we can move on and learn how to run.
As we reset our altar for the New Year, we might place there a Remembrance of our Ancestors. As we offer our prayers, we can remember to give thanks for the Wisdom that first began as stories passed down from one generation to the next.
To all my relations, may our Transformation be completed through the surrender of our disappointments. May our eyes be opened to the common burdens we carry so we know we aren’t alone in our struggle. May we be Leaders of Change by clearing the way forward by freeing ourselves from the past. The Ancestors are near. May we Honor them with a Blessing and draw near as the Humble Student. “What would You have me know today?”

11 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’)
Galactic Tone 11: Resolution; 11 assists every new thing to find its place in the universe in the process of ‘fitting in.’ some modifications must occur. Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions facilitating change, simplification and improvement.
Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons. A good day to sit on a rock.
Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’ O’JJ: Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes. Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative. Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.
