MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
The Night/AKBAL trecena guides a purpose for us to see the Truth of our Spiritual Being. On Tone 2 we are given the Choice “to Be, or Not to Be.” Like any newborn, we grow in our Awareness of our Self over time. The Tzolk’in tracks the cycles through which we draw the Wisdom of our Divine Being.
The Spiritual Growth we are capable to acquire is accomplished through an Intention that would hold our attention. Each trecena shows us how an Intention of Creation facilitates an Elevation of Spiritual Consciousness.
PORTAL DAY: Element of Ether – Portal days magnify our experiences of Spirit. Through a thinning of the veil, Portals offer a connection to Divine Sources of Wisdom. This is a day when we are more capable to experience our Supernatural Gifts, especially under the guidance of Akbal. We are offered an opportunity to Know the Presence of Divine Guidance and to see more deeply within our Self to the Dream of our Highest Aspiration. With a heightened Sense of Divine Support we are given the Faith to Dream our Highest Dream. This is a day to pay attention to gut instincts… especially the small ones. Through an acknowledgement of these as a voice of direction from within, we will begin to hear our own Spirit’s Discernment more clearly.
The first step of Every Creation is an Inspiration, a Thought, or an Idea. Where does it come from? Science is yet unable to explain it. Our Dreams are still-immeasurable as an unseen Ether of Spirit. On Tone 2, we can make a Choice for Higher Consciousness in a decision to follow a Dream.
Tone 2 introduces an Intention of Duality that leads us to consider opposing perspectives. We separate our Self from the Whole of Consciousness as we consider our own version of a Dream. This is a critical point in the Creation Process that exercises our Sacred Right to Choose. Only Human can discern what it Believes it can Create and whether it Loves the Creation enough to follow through. Passion is the key to our Power of Creation.
As we consider a new Dream, Seed/KAN reminds us that we are the Seeds of a Divine Creation. The Maya saw Human as the “Corn People.” We were born with a Dream in our Heart. Even in our unconsciousness we hold a Sense that we were Created for something Greater than merely living our everyday lives.
The Cherokee defined Seed’s energy as “Dragon Energy” – comparing it to the geomagnetic forces within the Earth measured in ley lines, also called “dragon lines,” upon which the Ancient Sacred Sites are aligned. Our Seed is germinated by a Force of Nature – the Vibration of Love.
AKBAL would raise our Awareness to a Truth that our Intentions, when put into motion, bring to Life a vibration and frequency that elevates our Consciousness of Spirit. Our Hopes and Dreams are Divine Gifts of the Creator that would lead us on a path to Self Awareness and the Truth of our Spiritual Power.
Within every Human Heart is a Dream to Be Happy, to Love, and Be Loved. AKBAL asks us to look within our Soul for the Dream that holds our Highest Aspiration of Love. The Tzolk’in acknowledges each day as a Sacred Event. The Sacred Intention of Tone 2 is to look within our Self to discern the Dream of our Greatest Passion.
The Power in the 13-day trecena cycle of Creation is that it can be applied to any Dream. Large or small, we will learn something about our Self. Though, Akbal offers a special opportunity to see a Passion we were born with… the Dream that was first held in the Imagination of the Creator. The Creator’s Dream was that we would Know the Power of Creation so we would become Co-Creators with the Creator, Creating Creation.
The AKBAL trecena guides us to Visualize our Highest Aspiration by listening to our Dreams, and by discerning that the Voice of Inspiration we Hear is that of the Creator. If we are made capable to see our Inspiration as a Divine Gift of the Creator, we can realize the Power we would be given to make it so.
To all my relations, as we continue through this 13-day cycle may we hold an Intention to reflect on our Dreams. May we consider the Divine Source of our Inspiration as we make the Choice of a new Intention. May we use the Power of Intellect over Reason to re-member our ability to manifest a Dream isn’t measured by what we are capable to accomplish. (Just think of all the things we are capable of that we never get done.) May we see the Truth that what we would Love the Most – our Highest Aspiration – is in fact, the Creation we are most capable to Manifest. May we Honor whatever level of Consciousness we hold as the Truth we can build on through an experience of following a Dream that was Seeded in our Soul.
AN AKBAL CHALLENGE: 4 Days of Sacred Ceremony
On 1 Night/AKBAL I offered an Intention to observe the first 4 days of this trecena in the observance of Sacred Ceremony. The Elders taught that 4 days of Sacred Ceremony hold the power to change our lives. The first 4 days of the AKBAL trecena, in themselves, represent the Process of a Spiritual Initiation. Akbal continues to offer the Voice of Spirit. Seed/KAN reflects our Divine Power of Creation. Serpent/CHICCHAN ignites our Spiritual Gifts of Knowing, and on the Tone 4 of stability, CIMI affects the change of a Transformation.
We can choose our own way to express a dedicated practice of Experiencing Spirit. What is Sacred is only So by our own Choice of calling it Sacred. May we commit to a way, a time, and a place to call Sacred, to reflect on the Truth that our Dreams are an Ether of Spirit. May we pause to consider how the True Substance of our Identity is Wholly an Ether of Spirit.
May we offer ourselves in Humility with prayers for Greater Spiritual Consciousness. As we do, may we remember these are prayers of the Highest Intention imagined in the Consciousness of the Creator.
SHARING A JOY OF SPRING…
For the past two days a tiny Song Sparrow has been collecting fibers of the raw wool I offered on the balcony. All of her attention is focused on pulling at the fibers, seemly not satisfied until she’s worked off a good-sized piece. The male watches over nearby. I imagine when they fly off, the rest of the morning will be spent working it into the nest.
There’s wonder in seeing their consciousness of an Intention. I can’t help wondering what she thinks to have found such handy material. I have been given a gift of imagining a nest somewhere with a cozy wool lining that is being made from my offering. From my own joy I can imagine the Joy of the Creator, when a Creation aligns with the Intention of a Divine Dream.
Song Sparrow Nesting…
The female builds the nest, working mainly during the morning. It’s a simple, sturdy cup made of loose grasses, weeds, and bark on the outsides, then lined more tidily with grasses, rootlets, and animal hair. Construction takes about 4 days. The finished nest is 4-8 inches across (2-2.5 inches for the inside of the cup), and 2.5-4 inches deep. Source: AllAboutBirds

THE TRECENA OF NIGHT/AKBAL
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide for daily aspects and events of the Night/AKBAL trecena.
Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Seed/KAN: Family, sexual activity and the magic of germination are the characteristics of this sun sign. Natural net workers, Seed people strive to free themselves and others from debt or oppressive patterns of the past. Abundance is gathered by Seeds as if with a cast net. Seed persons are public defenders by discovering hidden traps and secret influences of others. To generate true abundance, Seed must learn to appreciate all gifts and lessons received and conduct profound investigations into its self. In the absence of gratefulness and the courage to face oneself, Seed finds itself in less and less fertile environments.
Cherokee, Dragon/UKTE’NA O’STO: Dragon’s symbol is Draco winding beween the Little Dipper and Big Dipper. Dragon is the Corn Spirit, symbol of dual personality of Corn Mother and Maiden. Fertility and pro-creation from generation to generation. The word dragon means ” eye, to look at, to see clearly”. Spirit brings energy of Lawgiver, Justice, vigilance and protective, loyal unto death. Ley lines in China are “dragon lines”, energy is sometimes called “orgone energy”, pyramid power or magnetic force. Pyramids and kivas are collector portals for this energy, known as vortexes. Dragon energy beats a path everywhere, stirring things up with a big stick in tune with the beat of the drum, heartbeat of the Earth. Totem-Lizard. You enter carrying a heavy net of karmic debts, this energy helps you make amends to your self and others, dissolve debts, power of growth. The Lizard symbolizes wild sexual passions that you must balance.
