MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
At Tone 1 we began the trecena in unity. Wind/IK would inspire an Intention for an experience of our own Power of Creation. Tone 2 is a day of discernment that draws focus back to our Self. Our first experience was a Communion within, between our Higher Self and a Divine Source of Inspiration.
Tone 2 is the day our Higher Self engages with the Ego. Our Lower Self would express the challenges we would expect to face. Our Higher Self would share all the possibilities. Together, they negotiate an Intention of “to be, or not to be.”
Put in charge of our own Creative Force, this is a day when our Higher Self can discern the fears of the Lower Self. As we question our ability to create the change we most desire, we have an opportunity to preview the illusions of the Ego that our Higher Self must overcome to accomplish our next move to Higher Ground.
Night/AKBAL presents us with the Power to Dream. Akbal is the Voice of Spirit that speaks to us in our Dreams. The glyph illustrates a place of darkness with curtains pulled back to reveal a source of Light. Night demonstrates a Way of Discernment on Tone 2, as a Choice to Turn to the Light, the Truth that is already known by our Higher Self.
As a Blue Day Sign of the West, Akbal resides in the direction of our direct experience. This the place we walk into the unknown future, where the Lower Self experiences its fear of the Dark. The Cherokee Day Sign, Hearth, is the Sacred Fire that burns through the night, a place of comfort where we can go to be connected for Divine Discernment.
Our Higher Self can be that Voice in the Dark Experience of the Ego, that points to our Source of Light ahead. Akbal can draw out the “warning signals” of both our conscious and unconscious thoughts. We can call on our Higher Self to reveal the Light that would guide us through the darkness.
The Self that is in Divine Communion with the Creator knows that the darkness of the void is not a place of fear, but is the very source of unlimited possibility. What is unknown holds the potential for New Wisdom. Akbal can work behind the scenes to help our Lower Self proceed willingly into the dark.
Like Tone 1, Akbal is a day sign that offers Divine Inspiration through the voices we hear in our Dreams. As we coax our own Ego out of the shadows, Akbal presents a Voice we can clearly discern that calls us forward, unafraid.
We learned that Akbal points us to a Light the Higher Self already sees. As we negotiate with our own fear of accomplishment, Akbal points to truth we already know, ways we already know. On our Journey into the darkness of any new creation, we at least know one step that can be taken. And, holding the New Wisdom that we are never alone, we can turn to our own Wisdom to see that when we take one step, a light will shine on the next. Akbal gives us the courage to commit to a forward movement, taking that one step at a time… one Leap of Faith at a time.
Today’s experience will call out the darkness of our emotional response. This is a day for an Opening of the Heart, to invite these feelings and expose them to the Light of the Creator, so the Truth to Overcome can be revealed through a Divine Communion. We work as One with the Creator to overcome a source of darkness within our Self. We coax our Lower Self to come along under the guidance of our Higher Self. The Light of the Hearth is said to so strong that surrounding elements are entrained to their rhythm and resistance falls away.
To all my relations, as we negotiate a way forward through a discernment of Sacred Intention, may we watch for a Light of Illumination, the Truth spoken by a Voice of Spirit. May we discern the voice of our own Higher Self, as the part of our Self that holds that Sense that everything will be alright. May we acknowledge the conversation by the Ego, that will present its sorrows and fears. May we welcome this as the information needed by our Higher Self to bring Light to that darkness. Akbal holds the power to Dream – may our forward movement be guided by a Higher Wisdom that we are Dreamers capable of making our Dreams Come True. May we acknowledge our Higher Self, the Master who walks as One with the Creator, as the leader capable to dispel the Ego’s fear by the Divine Discernment that each step will shed a new Light on the next.

2 Night/AKBAL (Cherokee, Hearth, O’ya)
Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Night/Akbal: Bringers of the Dawn. Dreamers who bring the new sun to clarify and illuminate the road of life. Thus the insecurities and doubts born of darkness of the sub-conscious mind are dispelled. These persons travel the Void. a place where nothing yet exists but all potential dwells, the womb of creation. From this void, Night persons bring forth new solutions and artistic inspiration. Night’s voyages of dreams build confidence and happiness with a sense of well being. If night does not bravely journey into the void they may find themselves wandering the darkness of self doubt and insecurity.
Cherokee, Hearth/O’YA: Hearth’s symbol is the fire pit in the Center, velvet black as the night. The triangle in Orion. The M42 nebula (home of the Central race from the WingMakers) in the center of the triangle of Orion is the fire in the Hearth, also matching the Mayan. The Hearth is the Torchbearer who holds the light and warmth throughout the night. Belief is so strong that the surrounding elements become entrained to their rhythm and all resistance falls away. With respect and honor of intuition combined with knowledge this energy creates the magic of the center in this dimension. AKBAL-Night-Totem-OWL: Guardian of the Night Sun. Energies for the opening of mystic secrets, seeing through the masks of deception, trickery. High ability of discernment. Portals open to other worlds and dimensions for your learning and spiritual growth. Magical abilities are possible.
