MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
The Next 13-Days…
Deer/MANIK is the Hand that reaches up to grasp a current that completes a circuit of Divine Power. Deer completes our Connection to the Divinity of the Creator and guides us to a Higher Consciousness of our Life Purpose and Soul Mission.
Our Journey will be an experience of “Light” related to Day Signs of Red and Blue. The cycles of “Light” tend to be “easier” energy as our “work” will be to receive and discern Divine Inspiration. Days also alternate between “Light” (inspiration) and “Dark” (application), though as leader of the trecena, Deer’s “Light” will be the prevailing energy.
Deer can transform us through a correspondence of Mind and Spirit. MANIK is the Day Sign of the Mayan Priest, demonstrating the Hand of God in the material world. An Ascension on 13 Storm/CAUAC, will raise our Consciousness to what it means to be Connected to a Source of Divine Power.
PORTAL DAYS: Element of Ether
Portal days thin the veil to Spiritual Dimensions and elevate our Awareness to our own Spiritual Gifts of Intuition and Knowing. 13 Storm/CAUAC is the one Portal Day in the Deer/MANIK trecena. The Lightning of CAUAC connects Heaven and Earth, Body and Soul. A Portal will magnify a connection to “Lightning Energy” at our Ascension to a Higher Purpose.
PEAK DAYS: Peak Experience, Peak Performance
- 6 Road/EB – directs us toward our Divine Destiny.
- 7 Reed/BEN – balances us in Humility, kneeling at an Altar of the Divine.
- 8 Jaguar/IX – initiates a Transformation of Spirit that opens our Spiritual Gifts.
- 9 Eagle/MEN – inspires a Transformation to serve as a Divine Intermediary and presents a Vision of our future.
GLOBAL BURNER DAY: 4 Dog/OC
There are 4 Global Burner Days in the 260-day round of the Tzolk’in. On the days leading up to a Burner Day, we can experience an excess of residual energy. 4 Dog/OC holds potential for a release that will re-stabilize our energy. See the 13-day Trecena Guide for more information.
The Jaguar/IX trecena guided us to follow our Spiritual Path and to find our sense of direction from a Divine Source within. We access our greatest source of strength as we learn to rely on our own Voice of Spirit. We don’t have to look outside ourselves for the Source of Divine Agency. Through an Ascension of Consciousness we were raised to the Purpose to be the Hand of the Creator that is extended to the Whole.
Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign of the Mayan Priest. MANIK will inspire us to a “Way to Be” the Hand of God. Today, Deer/MANIK brings the Spiritual Tools we can rely on for this journey. Deer lives its life as a pilgrimage of calculated movement. Deer is empowered by standing in silence, vigilantly aware of the landscape in every direction. Deer can teach us to rely on our Sense of Inner Knowing for the direction and timing of our movement.
As our role model, Deer/MANIK demonstrates a way of Standing in our own Truth. We could think of Deer as the “strong silent type” that doesn’t need to prove itself. As Deer, we would have no need to defend or define ourselves by what others think. We would meet eye-to-eye on equal ground, with the inner strength to Listen without contemplating our own Answer. We can Share the Blessing of Human’s Right to Be, by foregoing the impulse to express an opinion that could come from our Lower Self. Every Spirit wants to be Acknowledged and Heard. We can communicate our Understanding with Compassion without any words. By adopting a strategy of silence, we will KNOW when we are led by Divine Discernment. The Creator invites us to “come as we are” and hears the language of the Heart. As the Hand of God we would listen for the Heart of any Matter.
Today is a new beginning. Deer will inspire us with Spiritual Tools to overcome any challenge we might perceive. MANIK is a trecena of Great Blessing to walk with the Deer who will be on watch in every direction.
Our Primary Purpose will be to Offer our Unconditional Love. We can rely on Divine Love to heal our differences, allowing each one to find their own right way to discover the Love of the Creator. We would hold the position that every perspective and experience is worthy, and that each person is “more than enough” to deserve God’s Love. Deer/MANIK’s Unconditional Love holds the Power of Harmonic Resonance, as a vibration that will draw lower frequencies into sympathy.
As we walk in the Purpose of Divine Authority, we must serve in Humility. Our Acts of Unconditional Love hold their own Power to Heal and Transform. We can be the “living proof” that God exists in the world.
To all my relations, may we Offer our Self as an extension of the Creator’s Unconditional Love. May we present ourselves in Humility, willing to learn. May we acknowledge the God in each other, knowing we are perfect in the Creator’s eyes. May we seek to Listen rather than to be Heard, and be vigilance to hear the messages spoken by the Heart.

THE TRECENA OF DEER/MANIK
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide for a forecast of Deer/MANIK trecena energies.
1 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)
Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
