MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 4 brings the energy to stabilize our climb of new Spiritual Growth. Tone 4 sets the rules, orientation and parameters of a new way forward. We are given a clearer Sense of our Self, where we are, and where we are going.
Earth/CABAN draws us into Oneness with Mother Earth. The Natural World was given to us as the place of our Becoming. CABAN is a symbol of perpetual motion. Our Human transformation flows in synchronicity with her movement, and together we are synchronized within the universal movements of Heaven and Earth.
CABAN offers an awareness of ourselves as One in a Universal Movement. CABAN can bring us an experience of synchronicity. We may find ourselves in the right place at the right time for something unexpected.
Earth persons help to dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. CABAN helps us to move on from old ways of Being. The Cherokee Heron is compared to the Phoenix who rises from the ashes of its past.
4 Earth/CABAN offers us the stability of the 4 Directions. The movement of her rotation maintains the Balance that suspends us between the Above and the Below. Both the Aztec and the Cherokee recognize CABAN by symbols of Movement. The Aztec Ollin simply meaning “movement.” Ollin is illustrated in the Center of the Aztec’s stone calendar, marking 20 significant ways of movement. The Cherokee Heron is the totem that lives life as a migration. They both reflect the dynamic of Transformation as a process of perpetual movement.
Through each phase of new Spiritual Growth (Tones 1-6), we inevitably find ourselves in the Dark. It’s hard for Human to hold Faith in the Unseen. We start to forget what was once so clear in Spirit. We have to invest ourselves in Faith to see any progress. Earth/CABAN reminds us that we are always moving. Even when it seems we’re stuck in one place, CABAN reminds us we are still moving. CABAN helps us to see the progress we could make just by going with the flow.
CABAN generates the Faith that the Earth was set into motion by a Divine Hand. Every direction we are turned to presents a carefully ordered experience of Time and Place. Time itself is created by Earth’s movement. If we follow her movements we can remember that from Darkeness we are always turned to the Light.
The Aztec 4 Ollin is recognized as a day of the purified heart, signifying those moments where human beings may perceive what they are becoming. A good day for transmutation, which arrives like an earthquake that leaves in its wake the ruins of rationality, order and the preconceived. Aztec Calendar
The Aztec call this an auspicious day for the “active principle” and a bad day for the “passive principle.” The place of stability in our perpetual rotation resides in our Spiritual Center. Ollin can shift our perception of being “stuck” in one place through the Truth of our progress.
Seeing ourselves positioned at the Center of Mother Earth, we can see how quickly we are moving. We can see it when we look up at the stars. The Earth’s iron core is surrounded in a molten liquid outer core. The core of Mother Earth rotates faster than its outer crust. Our movement is accelerated in the place where it seems we are standing still.
Earth/CABAN helps to stabilize an Intention of forward movement. We are called by Mother Earth to stand in the Center and look to the 4 directions when we need to Know we are making progress. The basic elements of our life and experience will reflect a change of position.
4 Earth/CABAN reminds us that our Balance is maintained by movement. Any direction will do, as long as we keep moving. Mother Earth will carry us to the Time and Place we need to be.
Today we can draw our Consciousness to the synchronicity in our lives. As Human must bear the time, we can turn to the Wisdom of our own Experience. We can call into our Consciousness a Miracle from the past to a destination we waited to reach, fearing the time would never come. When it time finally arrived, it was a greater blessing because it did take time to accomplish. Human perceives a Higher Value in the accomplishments that take time. Today we can see that the Dreams that take time build our Inner Strength. We are transformed to a Higher Vision of our Self, when we dare to reach beyond the Easy. Doing what is easy, we’re more prone to fall into the same old patterns – because we Can. When we reach for something Higher, we Can’t. The same old things don’t work. Our Higher Intentions accelerate our process of change.
We can remember that a body in motion tends to stay in motion. We can also remember the Truth that when we are moving, slight adjustments in our direction will lead to entirely different destinations.
May we follow the footsteps of the Jaguar, holding Gratitude for Mother Earth. May we see every experience she turns us to is a Blessing of Divine Timing.
To all my relations, may we find our Stability in an effort to keep going. May we receive the Gift of Knowledge that Mother Earth would present to us today. May we see the evidence that even a very small change will make a big difference. May we observe life from the Center where we are able to see the Balance. May we look to the heavens and Conceive the Divine Order of Movement that extends to the farthest reaches of the Universe. May we claim the significance of Time and Place where we are right now. May we move on through the darkness, remembering we are always being carried to the Light.
in lak’ech, i am another you

4 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.
Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement, of perpetual motion, recycling, regeneration; environmentalists fighting for the underdog. Heron is mentally alert, rational, yet opinionated; has a great faith in people and in the divine plan, holding the magic of ministry, medicine, marketing and matchmaking; healing abilities, especially with crystals; negotiation and mediation energy. Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way.
