MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
On Tone 13 we Ascend to a Higher State of Consciousness. We see our Self in a new way, changed through the shared mind of the One Divine Consciousness. 13 is the number of theurgy, symbolizing the power we hold to call on Divine Intervention through our rituals, ceremonies and prayers. 13 represents our unlimited access to the Creator’s Love.
The Power of ritual and sacred ceremony is that they represent a Time and Place when our Soul Intention is a correspondence with God. In Sacred Ceremony, we Acknowledge there is a Power Greater than our Own, a Belief demonstrated by a Holy Movement of Divine Inspiration.
13 Monkey/CHUEN is an Ascended Creator.
Monkey/CHUEN is the Archetype that illustrates Human’s Movement as a Divine Creator. As a Day Sign of the West, Monkey represent our experience of the Unknown and shows us a Divine Response. Monkey doesn’t fear the future, but is captivated by the opportunity of experience. Monkey is known for its curiosity, turning every thread of experience over to see the finer details. Holding the simple intention of Play, Monkey imagines how objects can be used as tools. Monkey sees the humor in life’s contradictions of Dark and Light.
CHUEN is the Weaver of Time, said to be the Master Artist that weaves together all the experiences of our life into a Tapestry of Beauty that is never finished. The glyph illustrates “time rolled up” on the head of the Monkey. Monkey is the keeper of all our experiences as Art Created from our Heart and Mind. As we are Transformed, we imagine another brushstroke.
Human is the only creation with the power to access experience from any Time and Place. Only Human holds the gift to re-experience time. At the Ascension of Perception, we are Acknowledged and Initiated in a Holy Ceremony of Communion. The gift we are handed at our “graduation” is “Time Rolled Up” in a scroll that bears our Name. Consciousness is the Sacred Seal that holds together our perception of the Experience. “Time Rolled Up” is a Gift to our new Consciousness to open and Create again.
Discernment is the Gift Held by our Divine Feminine Nature of Spirit. As well as holding the Consciousness of Compassionate Love, the Number 2 gender-influence was created to receive the Inspiration from the Divine Masculine Number 1. Balanced together, the Feminine births the Divine Discernment of Understanding. The 1 and the 2 create the Trinity of Divine Discernment.
Leonardo da Vinci‘s “Mona Lisa” holds many mysteries. Among them was the question why da Vinci kept it close at hand, adding new brushstrokes over time, as though he never perceived it as finished. The most noted feature has always been her mysterious expression. The Divine Feminine is reflected through her face that implies a Discernment, a perception of Understanding that She alone can Know and Share.
On Tone 13 the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine aspects of our Spirit are drawn into a Perfect Union of Mind and Heart to manifest a New Creation of Divine Discernment, a Renewed Perception of Consciousness.
CHUEN connects the faculties of Intellect and Imagination. Through our Imagination we can Time Travel. We have the Vision to see things exactly as they unfolded before. We even re-experience our original emotions. We can acknowledge this for the Spiritual Gift that it is. Through Intellect, we see that our discernment of the experience, the central aspect, lies in how we look at it and the feelings we remember. Monkey reminds us to not take ourselves so seriously.
The Cherokee Day Sign, the Raccoon, is the friendly trickster that creates experiences that make us smile. The Raccoon would remind us to weigh ALL our experiences. CHUEN would say, “Just out of curiosity, why do you define your life by your “worst” experiences?”
CHUEN can help us see the Whole of our Experience in Light of the Beauty that surrounds us in every direction. The darkest threads in our tapestry can become the most beautiful when they are transformed by Light, just as Suffering is Transformed into Compassionate Love.
As we hold this gift of all our time, we can open it and look back through old memories. When we see how they are transformed by a new perspective, we can create them into something new. Experiences that once held resentment can now be Forgiven, when we look at them through the eyes of Compassionate Love. We can finally let others off the hook and at the same time Forgive Our Self.
With Higher Consciousness of Divine Love we can rewrite our Life Story. I remember the stories I once told to define my life experience. In the depth of depression I only saw the dark threads. My story of injustice once defined the underlying reason for all the choices I made. I once held the illusion that this “injustice” created obstacles I could never overcome. Experiences that make me feel Unloved, were turned into the illusion that I was unworthy of Love. Failures once “proved” I would never be enough. And Love lost was “proof” that I would always be abandoned. Darkness was the leading headline of my own Life Story.
I see a Monkey, jumping up and down, making those noises monkeys make. “Silly Human. Instead of Light, you took Darkness and multiplied it to eternity!”
When we don’t use our Intellect to inspect our feelings, Human does silly things… silly things like enjoying our suffering. We even see it as an indulgence we deserve, recreating the little joy we create blaming all our problems on someone else. After all, we “deserve” to be offended. We have the “right” of indignation. We can punish our Self over and over for a mistake we’d likely never make again, just because – well, I can’t even think of a rational reason for that.
The Raccoon loves things that reflect Light. It’s capable to find shiny things digging through the garbage. They are made even shinier by washing them in a little water. Raccoon demonstrates how water that holds the Ether of Spirit, purifies everything and makes it new. Somewhere, even in the darkest experience we can find a little bit of Light. If nothing else, the darkness in the past is OVER.
Our memories of Darkness can become the most important moments of our Life. Our Human discernment of injustice is a Calling Home, like a storm brewing on the horizon. Like a bell rung for Mass, we are drawn back to an Altar to Kneel in Humility. Opening our Heart to share the Darkness with the Creator always manifests our Divine Justice through an In-pouring of Light.
Monkey can help us see that it only makes sense to run to the place of Happiness and Love whenever we see the Signs of Suffering. Over time, even the Lower Mind can learn it’s more fun to Love than it is to Hate. The idea we have to learn this, seems a little crazy now. Imagine the magnitude of a Transformation that changed our perspective from Loving Hate to Loving Love.
Monkey/CHUEN is a day with potential for mystical experiences. As an Artist, Alchemist, and Creator, Monkey is capable to spin beautiful creations from the Ether of its imagination. Monkey can weave imaginary experiences into our tapestry. On Monkey Days we’re more inclined to see the Fun of Holding such Magic. I imagine Monkey’s graduation gift comes with a little faerie dust, or magic wand rolled up inside. We can create ANYTHING we want to imagine.
This is a day of Celebration. Given a Higher Consciousness of Love and our Power to Create it, we have the Wisdom to Create any Expression of Love we can hold in our imagination. Just for Fun, wouldn’t you Love it if the Faerie Dust Really Worked? Our Creations are manifested by what we Believe. An Almighty Creator is curious about all the ways we would think of to experience Love and gives us the Free Will to Choose it. The only condition for Guaranteed Manifestation is that whatever we imagine holds the Integrity of Harmony and Equity.
At our Ascension we see the Higher Horizons that we can climb. There are 360 degrees of direction to choose from to create a new experience. The Tun calendar of prophecy is 360-days that accurately marks the time of Human’s major leaps of Consciousness from all the directions we’ve chosen. (For inspiration on the accuracy of the Mayan calendars, begin with Part 1 of Ian’s presentation video MayanMajix.com)
To all my relations, may we Give Thanks for a new Ascension and for the Gift Rolled Up that bears our Name. May we see that within, it holds everything that we’ve ever created. May we see it as a Gift that has been given back for all the times we suffered, and within it, another chance to recreate experiences of Light. May we look to our future that would be created by Grasping the Thread of Magic offered from Above. May we Crystallize in our Memory the sound of the Bell that calls us Home to a Lightning Strike of Love. May we also Cherish our scroll of time just the way it is right now. May we store up the Memories that will reveal something new in the future. May we sprinkle a little faerie dust on our Self for the Unknown Dreams that still lie in our Imagination, still waiting to be created as an Expression of Love. May we offer our Gratitude and Appreciation through prayer and ritual for the Promise we are given, that the Higher we Climb the more Beauty and Love we will discern and explore.

Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.
