MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

5 Deer / MANIK

Greetings Kin,

Tone 5 brings the energy of Empowerment to our Intention. 5 represents the Center of the cube, the force within that manages, organizes, and directs the application of our Intention. Dynamic developments become possible with the energy of 5.

Deer/MANIK guides us to find our Power through the application of our Spiritual Tools. The Deer is the Day Sign of the Mayan priest and shaman, said to keep every Spiritual Tool it has ever used. MANIK holds the power to push negative influences away, by holding a tool to overcome every Human limitation.

The glyph illustrates the Hand with forefinger and thumb grasping a thread of Ether, which connects the circuit to a Divine Source of Power. The circle on the hand is depicted as an eye (more obvious than my illustration), which serves as a symbol of Deer’s most used tool of Vigilant Observation.

Like the number 5, Deer knows how to employ its Spiritual Strength and Divine Authority. Deer’s greatest Power lies in Standing Silently in its Truth, due to the Strength of its Integrity. MANIK serves as the Hand of God in the world. Serving as a Divine Agent, MANIK’s Power relies on an application aligned with Divine Intention.

The climb of our Spiritual Growth is living in the Integrity of our Truth. We are moving with the Intention to Grasp the Divine Power of Creation. A Quest in Spirit offers an opportunity to Create from the realm of Spirit, which will be Manifested in the Balance of the “As Above, So Below.” We can’t win a war of Consciousness in the physical realm. Instead, we attract Consciousness by the “world we carry around with us,” when we exist in the realm of Spirit.

I’ve been in my own world of this AKBAL trecena. I’ve missed calls, found email replies in draft mode, never sent… not wholly connected to whatever I’m doing, while sure there is something else I should be doing. This is my climb. I write emails and edit out the “I’m trying to have faith” parts and change them to “I Am going to.” I honor the simple tools of sage and sweetgrass, remembering how many other people have carried out the same One Ceremony. It’s hard to turn away from the chaos of the world, though what sunk in today is how Human is convinced that every bad situation, means the end to all things. AKBAL is the Dreamer who Believes in the Dream. There is no final upending that lies beyond the Power of the Creator’s Hand. That’s the definition of a Miracle.

The AKBAL trecena can connect our Intellect and our Intuition, our Conscious and Unconscious thoughts.

DEER/MANIK: Spiritual Tools, protects the whole by standing silently in its Truth; upholds the pillars of the 4 directions; pushes away bad influences and negative energy by presenting the Truth to overcome our limitation; Day Sign of the Mayan priest; holds the Power of Harmonic Resonance

WEST: The direction of our unknown experience of living; our emotional response to life experience, our fear or our faith in the future

ELEMENT OF WATER: Water is the element capable of holding the Ether of Spirit, used in blessings, purification, and healing; water is a symbol of the moon and our emotions

BLUE: The color of refinement; our “theories” of Truth are refined by our own life experience. The Truth of our Collective Wisdom is refined by the reality of our own experience.

I’m still surprised at how long I lived without really knowing or claiming my own Truth. We have general ideas about our beliefs. But, how often do we investigate within to know the Truth we can stand on? For me, it started very small. Did I believe in a Divine Creator of Unconditional Love? It was only when someone challenged me a few years ago, “we live, we die, that’s all there is,” that I really thought about it.

My initial thought was to realize the “lack of evidence.” For a moment, my own faith felt like a flimsy tissue. In a moment of doubt, I saw nothing worthwhile in my future. My world became a very small place as I tried to imagine all the experiences that would no longer be a real part of living. I Chose to Believe. My world is a better place for it with unlimited opportunities. Right or wrong, this was a Truth I Chose as worthy to stand on.

When you Know your Truth, you lose the need to defend it. Others are allowed to think differently without a need to prove anything. Believing in an Almighty Source of Power and Love, I know the Creator holds the Power to Transform Everyone. The priest is not a Promoter, but leads as a Humble Practitioner. We can also accept if we’re wrong, calling on the Creator to raise us to Higher Ground.

Deer/MANIK holds the Power of Harmonic Resonance. Holding a Vibration of Pure Love, the Deer can draw lower frequencies into sympathy. Deer’s dedication to Vigilant Consciousness of itself and all 4 directions, guides a demonstration that attracts others to follow along. One of the duties of the Mayan priest is to keep the calendar, and maintain the observance of the Timing of the Sacred Ceremonies performed for the welfare of the Community. MANIK holds the power to draw us together for a Sacred Purpose.

When we are, together, aligned in a Sacred Purpose, we magnify the Time and Place of Sacred Ceremony. The Power of the Whole is multiplied to abundance in sharing a Common Intention of Communion with Spirit. We perform a Divine Service for the Whole in our reaching to grasp our own Connection to the Consciousness of Divinity.

The Elders always said, “What you are healing in your self, you are healing on behalf of the Whole.” They taught that overcoming our own suffering was the gift we were destined to heal for the Whole. Through all of us, there are millions of ways to heal the suffering of Humanity. The Mission we were given is to raise the Light within our Self.

Today we receive the Power to keep going, to complete a new climb that will stretch our limits. Deer/MANIK shares the Spiritual Tools to help us climb Higher than we have before.

To all my relations, may we consider the Spiritual Tools that were shared with Human. They were given by Design for Divine Meaning and Purpose. Everything created starts with a reason. May we remember the One most important tool is our Vigilant Consciousness. Only by exploring our thoughts and emotional responses, can we measure them against what we believe is True. The Truth of the Creator’s Love and Intention of Divine Justice, are Truths Powerful enough to Believe in our Future Happiness. We can be Happy Now for every experience that leads us there, when we stand on the Promise of our Divine Destiny. May we see how easy it is to follow along with choices we never made for our self, and the Potential for Unlimited opportunity, when we are Conscious to Choose for our Self. May we face our own limitations with courage, knowing that once they are identified, Deer will share the very Tool we need.

in lak’ech, I am another you

5 Deer/MANIK (Hand), (Cherokee Deer Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 5: Empowerment. At the center of the cube we find Five. Five is an intelligent, organizing force which manages communications and materials, knowledge and application. Fives are natural networkers who gather what is needed. These persons can probe directly to the core of any situation making them excellent investigators.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.
