MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

4 Wisdom / CIB
Greetings Kin,
Tone 4 raises the Intention of Stability. We had an idea for the Creation of Love in Harmony, to create the Place where we Belong. Tone 3 offered the Divine Inspiration of Possibility. We saw something we could move on to improve the Happiness in our own life, investing Time to show someone else they belong.
3 Eagle/MEN gave us the Vision to lock into the Light of the Dream. We’re grasping at the speck of an idea for Love. On Tone 4, we’re trying to hold on to the Intention, to Remember so the Dream won’t slip away.
Tone 4 is represented by the cube, and the area within that’s defined by its borders and parameters. On Tone 4 we create a mental construct for a body of thought. In the climb for Higher Consciousness we do it by defining the thoughts we will hold in our Sanctuary. A Sanctuary is the perfect place of retreat, where Love always waits in Divine Communion. It’s hard to see that it is Real, because it is “invisible.” Yet, like the Eagle’s eye, we have a vision – a speck of the Truth. The Speck is the Divine Light that is our Faith to Believe. Believing in Love is a Beautiful Light. We might remember how we are Humbled by the Light of Love. Like the Deer’s Gift of Harmonic Resonance, when someone only sees the Light in us, we go along, to Shine in the Moment of being Seen and Acknowledged.
We can hold on to our Intention to Love by creating the Rules of the Game. We can turn away the darkness that can interrupt a Divine train of thought by choosing in advance, which thoughts belong. We are making a choice for the future that we will carry out here and now on behalf of the whole. It’s only for a Time, to see what we can learn. There will be more choices. Every choice doesn’t have to be the end-all, only one step in the right direction.
Wisdom/CIB connects us to the Ascended Masters and the Wisdom of the Ages. Our thoughts are drawn to the family of us all. It’s a day to honor the wisdom that was preserved for us and passed down as our Divine Inheritance. It’s a day to remember the Higher Ground created for Us by those who came before, who also walked “the hard road.” To honor Wisdom, we pay attention like we don’t already know everything. We take the Truth to heart that was learned in a proven and worthy way, through the experience of Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Wisdom doesn’t come easy. CIB teaches us the way by looking ahead and behind to make Choices that are Wise.
It’s easier to make a Wise Choice than it is to decide if a choice will lead us in the right or wrong direction. We can usually figure out the “next right thing.” Sometimes, it’s doing the dishes. When we don’t know one thing, that’s a Truth. It isn’t wise to move on something we can’t see. We don’t have to, when we have the wisdom to USE THE TIME for Patience to see a bigger picture. There’s always a Divine Meaning for Time, when Time is applied to See and Know more about anything we care about.
CIB’s totem is the Owl, the mystical ferryman that holds a torch aloft and guides the journey to the “otherside.” The fare for passage is Forgiveness. To move on over to the otherside of Life, we must let go of all the worldly matters of the past. By Egyptian myth, the heart must be as light as a feather. The Owl is a symbol of the transition from Life to Death. We can ascend to a Higher Life when we let the old one go. It’s finished. All the choices we made were based on a set of circumstances that was “then.” This is NOW. The Owl has eyes like an Eagle, with the Power to see what’s behind and to see through the darkness.
CIB resides in the South, the direction of Relationship. Holding the Element of Earth, CIB relates to our Common Experience of physicality. Life and Death are the primary concerns of everyday. We fail to see how every day is an effort of survival to Human’s unconscious thoughts. We try to “make a living.” It’s no wonder we miss the tangible Truth in Spirit, when life hurts and we have to feel to learn how it feels. CIB can square us up for Right Relationship, seeing the One thought of everyday that is Common… Truth known in every Time and Place.
Wisdom is the application of Truth, not a body of knowledge. Truth doesn’t mean a thing unless we use it to add 2+2. We don’t waste time on the calculation unless the matter is something we Love. We’ll add the details of Love all day long. When we Belong, we take Love for granted. With Wisdom we could see that is a Divine thing. Trust.
Today, my thoughts are turned to this myth that we should all be afraid of one another. Someone shared the thought, and for the sake of “belonging” we followed along. At first we saw no harm in all the differences, yet we counted them. Everything that human finds worthy of note is a Truth for comparison. In small imperceivable ways, we imagined a Real Life “other” that isn’t related to us. How could we ever be led to believe we aren’t just the same, when it comes to the everyday life and struggle to live.
We didn’t think. How else could anyone believe that a Human Being would travel 2,000 miles, mostly on foot, carrying their children, for the opportunity to harm us? I’m pretty sure if they showed up at my door, they would want a drink of water, a place to sit down, something to eat. We are all “running for our life” – that safe place of sanctuary, where there’s peace and every need is covered for the night.
We can find the love in strangers as easy as our friends and family, sometimes even better. One Deer/MANIK trecena I was inspired, heading out the door in the morning on a mission to love. Within a block from home on the way to a meeting a huge man was yelling at cars and waving his arms, pointing, in the street. I wondered, “Is this my mission?” I asked for one. At the time there was no way in traffic to pull over. It was cold and he was heading toward “convenience food corner.” There wasn’t a way at the moment, but I started thinking about what a Divine Creator would expect me to do. This felt like stepping into harms way. Then, I realized, there never has to be any fear on a mission of Love. On my way back home two hours later, he was still there, sitting on the curb in the parking lot by Kentucky Fried Chicken. It was cold. So, my mission was waiting.
By the time I parked my car he had disappeared into KFC. I had a little cash, enough for lunch and had just bought a package of tobacco. I thought there was some street value in the gift, so that would be part of the offering. He was sitting in the booth close to the door, apparently a temporary reprieve as long as he was allowed to be. He was a huge black man with an intimidating look – one that was yelling at cars in the intersection. I don’t have ANY sense when I do these things. When I walked up to the table I said, “Was that you I saw yelling in the intersection this morning? (WHY DID I SAY THAT?… I quickly carried on.) It didn’t look like you were having a very good day. I thought maybe it would be better if I could buy your lunch.” All I got was a blank stare, but when I set the offering on the table, he received it.
I went on to buy my own lunch. As I passed by to leave, we exchange a glance. “We were the same. Another Human Being just like me.” Only, it was a moment of Love between us for the “hard road” we shared, seeing and acknowledging that we aren’t the only one. Someone sees the trouble we’ve seen. I will never forget that moment. I only wish I’d asked if we could eat together. In the Capitol riot, one officer was being beaten by those suggesting he be killed with his own gun. His last hope was to share that he had children. The children were his salvation. We can believe in the Power of Love and the SAME COMMON dream to be seen that way, enough to claim the moment when we CAN see.
To all my relations, may we look to the Past and all the fears we’ve created that are an illusion. What we have in Common is Divine. What matters IS JUST THE SAME. We just want to “make a life” where we can Live and Belong… an Equal Member of the Human Race.
When we see our differences, may we Welcome thought that is brought into our Consciousness, so we can think about it and Choose whether it was ever our Truth, or just an idea floated by someone else. May we claim Wisdom through the PATIENCE and Consciousness to CHOOSE what WE THINK about one another. There is a lot of darkness in the world, but it only takes a moment to put it into perspective when we add the REAL 2+2. Mostly, life goes on “trying to live” the best way we know how.
May we assume the Light within is Common for everyone. May we compare apples to apples… not our best days, to someone else’s worst. May we have the sense to remember we have better days, and even on the worst days, we will rise for one moment of Love. May we see how much Love we have to learn about each other. May Love be the Light we look for to See and Acknowledge.
Grandfathers, Grandmothers, help me listen and help me see, the world and the whole were given to belong to me. Share the Patience for me to see there is nothing to fear on Holy Ground, Times and Places we are moved by the One to Love. Help us remember that the Light of Belonging doesn’t cost a thing, yet it is the Most Sacred Exchange. Human Beings bury the dead. Every life matters to us, enough to rest in Peace.
in lak’ech, I am another you

4 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons. A good day to sit on a rock.
Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’ O’JJ: Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes. Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative. Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.
