Auroras Taken by Jan Eklind on March 4, 2024 @ Finnmark Norway
SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 03/04/2024
CME ARRIVES, SPARKS GEOMAGNETIC STORM: An overdue CME struck Earth’s magnetic field on March 3rd. The impact sparked a G2-class geomagnetic storm and bright auroras around the Arctic Circle. Jan Eklind photographed the display from the window seat of an Airbus A20N at 35,000 feet.
“I was flying from Oslo to Kirkenes on Scandinavian Airlines when the CME struck,” says Eklind. “Auroras spread across the sky with twilight in the distance and city lights below.”
The CME was hurled into space on Feb. 28th when a magnetic filament connected to sunspot AR3592 erupted. It was not aimed directly at Earth, and forecasters were unsure if it would deliver even a glancing blow; however, the impact was stronger than expected.
MARCH IS THE BEST MONTH OF THE YEAR FOR AURORAS: Did you know that March is the best month of the year for auroras? It’s true. A 75-year study shows that March has more geomagnetically active days than any other month of the year. (October is a close second.) This is due to the Russell-McPherron effect. In short, cracks tend to form in Earth’s magnetosphere during weeks around equinoxes, allowing solar wind to spark Northern Lights.
SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 03/02/2024 – Activity on the Far Side
Far Side Sunspots, two weeks away from earth-facing activity
GIANT SUNSPOT VISIBLE FROM MARS: For the past two weeks, astronomers on Earth have marveled at the size and violence of sunspot AR3590. It unleashed the strongest solar flare of Solar Cycle 25 (X6.3) and, at one point, was more than half the size of Carrington’s sunspot. Now AR3590 is visible from Mars. Mars rover Perseverance saw it yesterday from Jezero crater:

Perseverance’s images of the sun come from its MASTCAM (stereo mast camera), which puts about 90 pixels across the solar disk. It takes a large sunspot to show up in these low-resolution images. AR3590 is an easy catch, even with these limitations.
This weekend, AR3590 will rotate off the Earthside of the sun. Perseverance can keep track of it for us; the Mars rover has a good view of the sun’s farside, where AR3590 will spend the next two weeks. If it does not decay, the sunspot could become a renewed threat for Earth-directed flares in mid-March when it turns our way again.

13 Monkey/CHUEN, Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI – Day 13, Ascension of the 1 Storm/CAUAC Trecena
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.
A GOOD DAY TO: Begin anything new in your life.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.
