CME ARRIVES, SPARKS GEOMAGNETIC STORM: An overdue CME struck Earth’s magnetic field on March 3rd. The impact sparked a G2-class geomagnetic storm and bright auroras around the Arctic Circle. Jan Eklind photographed the display from the window seat of an Airbus A20N at 35,000 feet.

THE MARTIAN SUNSPOT IS FACING EARTH: A sunspot so big it was seen last week as far away as Mars has now turned to face Earth. NASA’s Perseverance rover photographed it from Jezero crater, and it has only grown bigger since then.

Comet Nishimura survived it’s hairpin turn around the Sun.
