GEOMAGNETIC GROUND CURRENTS IN NORTH AMERICA: Space weather isn’t all about the sky. It’s in the ground, too. On April 16th, a severe geomagnetic storm caused electricity to flow through the rocks and soil of North America. Red zones in this animated map from NOAA show where voltages were greatest.

Geoelectric voltages were more than 70 times normal in the Appalachian mountain range, northern Minnesota, and northwestern Canada. Texas and other western US states were relatively unscathed.

Researchers track ground currents because in extreme cases they can cause power outages like the Great Québec Blackout of March 13, 1989. This week’s storm wasn’t intense or long-lasting enough to bring down power grids, but NOAA’s maps show where power stations are most vulnerable.

“Generally, geoelectric amplitudes are high over metamorphic rock, such as in the Appalachians and northern Minnesota,” explains Jeffrey Love of the US Geological Survey (USGS). “They are usually low over sedimentary rock such as in Texas and northwest of the Appalachians.”

Great Québec Blackout 1989

They call it “the day the sun brought darkness.” On March 13, 1989, a powerful coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth’s magnetic field. Ninety seconds later, the Hydro-Québec power grid failed. During the 9 hour blackout that followed, millions of Quebecois found themselves with no light or heat, wondering what was going on?

It seems hard to believe now, but in 1989 few people realized solar storms could bring down power grids. The warning bells had been ringing for more than a century, though. In Sept. 1859, a similar CME hit Earth’s magnetic field–the infamous “Carrington Event“–sparking a storm twice as strong as March 1989. Electrical currents surged through Victorian-era telegraph wires, in some cases causing sparks and setting telegraph offices on fire. COMET SWAN MAY BE DISINTEGRATING: Newly-discovered Comet SWAN (C/2025 F2) may be disintegrating as it approaches the sun. Only a week ago it seemed firmly on track to become a naked-eye object at the beginning of May. Now it has lost its tail while its nucleus refuses to brighten. Some astronomers are having trouble even finding it in the morning sky. R.I.P, Comet SWAN?

Mayan Time, Signs and Synchronicity

Crocodile/IMIX is a Day of the incoming Light of Divine Inspiration. Tone 7 is the pinnacle view from the peak of a climb of Faith, the “top of the pyramid” and the peak of a vibrational wave of energy. IMIX Day are noted as mentally active days with wild ideas coming out of the blue. The Crocodile is the symbol of a primordial Mother and forces of Love drawn even through a beast of nature. Crocodiles are known to be among the best Mothers, carrying her children to higher ground as soon as she hears them chirping in their nest as they break through their shells.

IMIX is a Day of Feeling charged by the Light. God can reach us all at once. We all stand on the same Holy Ground. The wild ideas are the beginning, that establishes the Truth that God’s Light is on the Way and reminds us of the Source and Substance of God’s Guiding Light.

By the Christian calendar, Holy Thursday, is a Day of anticipation, waiting on the Day of Resurrection of the Son of God who manifested the Light of the Holy Spirit.

By the Jewish calendar, the 7 days of Passover was Time Observed in the Intention of Reflected God’s Highest aspects through Human’s expression of “Kindness, Restraint, Harmony, Ambition, Humility, Connection and Receptiveness.” 

I’ve already failed to be perfect today. Maybe that’s the point, the Truth that the only perfect thing about us is the Holy Spirit, not because we deserve it, but only by the Grace of God.

I recall another Day, a Sunday morning in 1972 when I set the Intention to be perfect for just one day. As I was backing out of the driveway to go to church, a car nearly hit me broadside that was racing down a residential street. I cursed in the moment. I couldn’t make it out of the driveway without failing.

Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.

Crocodile/IMIX: Crocodile receives messages of primal creative force; simply the beginning of all things. Crocodiles who follow their hearts are seen as genius. There is no order to the primal messages, so Crocodile persons should direct their energies toward practical and cooperative efforts to bring productive results. Crocodiles have a strong nurturing energy and will work hard to provide security to family and friends. Being extremely territorial, Crocodiles must watch not to be over protective or too dominating. While in these states, Crocodiles are insecure, indecisive and emotionally volatile.

A GOOD DAY TO: Open to new beginnings.

The beginning of each new era, this star in Orion appears with the rising Sun, heralding the creation of a new World cycle. TOTEM Imix/Dragon – Energy to understand all things sacred. Creation energy, connection for visions to learn the mysteries of the Universal knowledge. The dragon carries the source energy of life, revered in ancient cultures for power and wisdom.
