MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 9 calls for our Patience. Completion of cycles is all important to Tone 9. 8 Flint/ETZNAB pierced the Heart of Truth to perform a Healing of Spirit. Seeing to the depth of our own Shadow takes a lot of Spiritual Energy. The Peak Tone 9 completes our Healing through a recovery of Renewal and Regeneration.
Tone 9 asks us to look deeper into our own understanding to discern a Higher Truth.
Storm/CAUAC displays the Lightning Connection between Heaven and Earth. We are renewed through a regeneration of “lightning in the blood.” Experiencing the physical presence of this power, we can Sense the Unbridled Freedom of Spirit.
We can know that the wounds inflicted for our Healing s and the Clearing of our Karma served a Higher Purpose. Sweeping away an unseen attachment to our own darkness, Flint/ETZNAB cleared a new channel to the Divine.
Our transformation is a process of balancing our Human and Spiritual Natures. Both are Divine as part of the Holy Trinity. We are learning to bend the Will of our Human Nature, to live under the Authority of our Spiritual Nature. Human bears the burden of walking in darkness. We hide the things we are ashamed of in defense of our Human Nature. Though, the Creator didn’t expect a “perfect walk” as Human, but a “learning walk.” The Creator created us for a relationship to share as our Authentic Selves – the good, the bad, the joys, and the suffering. 8 Flint/ETZNAB coaxed out our Shadow, so again we would Know Unconditional Love.
All authentic sharing is Sacred to the Creator. Flint/ETZNAB swept away the hidden obstacles that stood in the way of an open line of Divine Communication.
The Creator made us Perfect in “Pure Spirit.” Storm/CAUAC illustrates an unbridled energy that connects us as One with Divinity. Lightning’s energy can reach us anywhere we are. CAUAC symbolizes the comfort of home, the place we naturally take cover in a storm. Our Spiritual Home lies in the Center of our own Spiritual Universe.
Storm/CAUAC is perfectly positioned to follow Flint. From our Center within we have a place of safety to watch the chaos of the world outside our Self.
“Lightning in the blood” is our Sixth Sense of Knowing. We can feel our connection as an electrical charge in the body. As a sudden discharge, Storm generates the Spark between the Up Above to the Down Below. CAUAC connects us to our Spiritual Gifts in a palpable way.
There are fewer songbirds in the Pacific Northwest than where I grew up in Kansas. The primary songbird I’ve seen here is the Red Wing Blackbird. Its call is a full-throated tone in vibrato, whistles, and melodic conversation. It makes me take notice when it arrives.
The Cherokee Day Sign, the Redbird, was a sign of Lightning Energy in the sky. The voice is much the same with a full-throated song of passion that seems to Celebrate Being. Through a Renewal of Spirit we can find our Joy in a new Freedom to Be.
To all my relations, may we Sense the Purity of our own Spirit that exists safe from the ways of the world. May we look deeper into our Self and crystallize the Miracle of who we really are. In Pure Spirit we are One with every living thing. May we consider our Communion with the Creator as our own Life’s Song. May we feel the nourishment of a new Source of Power that is rising within.

21 DAYS of CEREMONY: Day 9
Observing 21 days of Personal Sacred Ceremony is a traditional preparation for the K’iche Maya New Year, 8 B’atz (8 Monkey/CHUEN). The New Year is a celebration of Time, and the day of Initiation for the new Mayan Daykeepers. We are preparing for an initiation into a new way of being. We can employ the Magic of the Jaguar by observing these 21 Days in Gratitude.
Today I’m grateful for family and home. I’m grateful to a Higher Power that can do for me what I am incapable to do for myself. I’m grateful for the Healing Power of Gratitude that helps me see beyond the illusion of injustice, so I’m capable to enjoy the opportunity that is given to Give and Receive Love.

9 Storm/CAUAC (Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA)
Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.
Storm/Cauac: Day of the blessing of rain, giver of all life and lightening, a gift of nitrogen to Mother Earth and ozone to Father Sky. Cauac is also associated with the moon and the cycles of the moon, which are the meter of the feminine aspect of creation. The essence of Storm is the feeling of unity, security and warmth experienced in the home while the tempest of trouble rages in the world outside. Perpetually youthful, Storms exist to experience the ecstasy of freedom. They have the great capacity to both learn and teach. Their constant quest for novel experiences often leads to difficult tests and storms of emotion. Looking at these difficulties for the lessons they indeed are, will enrich our lives rather than destroy. Cauac individuals teach much through their electricity of being. Lightning energizes earth, this same energy energizes humans. Divine connections can be accessed.
Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA: Redbird is a feminine sign; the hand that rocks the cradle. The symbol of nurturing, the lightning nurtures and energizes, with energy for zest, curiosity, imagination, and ideas. Lightning adds spiritual force to the human by way of “lightning of the blood” of a healer, directly body to body vibration. The key to spiritual communication and access to the wisdom of the Ancestors lies in the ability to bestir the blood to speak.
