MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 8 is the Holy Day of the Earth/CABAN trecena. Tone 8 holds the Creator’s Highest Intention of Divine Justice.
Seed/KAN embodies all the elements of creation, representing family, sexual activity and the magic of germination. Within the Seed is Human’s Divine Design, and the promise to become what we were meant to be.
Just as a seed works it’s way to the light through darkness, KAN strives to free itself from the debts or oppressive patterns of the past. It reaches to be free. The Seed is capable to draw to itself everything that’s needed to grow, gathering abundance “as if cast by a net.”
In the position of Divine Justice, Seed reflects the promise of gathering everything it needs so that its fruit will be multiplied to abundance. Our fruit is the Light of the Spirit. So are we given what is needed for a new harvest of Spirit, multiplied to abundance.
Through our Transformation, we are Seeds that create a new and stronger Seeds for the next generation. The improvements we make are marked in the cellular memories of our Spiritual DNA. On Earth Human prizes the heirloom Seeds that hold the integrity of their first state of being. In Spirit, the greater prize is the Seed we are struggling to become. The transformation to something greater is something we strive to hold onto as the inheritance we would offer to future generations.
The Seed represents a force of life within that makes our reproduction possible. Seed guides us to a profound investigation of our Self. To generate abundance, Seed must learn to appreciate all the gifts and lessons that support the process of its change. Seed serves the purpose of freeing ourselves from the hidden traps and influence of others that would hold us back. We must be grateful and have the courage to face our Self to clear the obstacles that are present in our own environment. We are called to cultivate a place where we can grow.
The Dragon, the Cherokee Day Sign for Seed, relates to the Force of Life within. This is the same force related to the ley lines (or “dragon lines) of energy that cross the Earth. Dragon energy also reflects a power to “see clearly.”
Seed thrives when its positioned in fertile soil, residing closely to the elements of Mother Earth that provide nourishment for its energy. The two most important elements are Earth and Water. Seed produces a plant rooted in the Below to support the growth toward the Above.
Seed reminds us that the Earth is our foundation. The environment we cultivate in our everyday place has a direct influence on our ability to grow. The below maintains the integrity of our balance, and determines how High we will grow. Just as we wouldn’t expect to grow in Spirit if all our energy was directed to living in the world, neither can our Spirit thrive if we are only focused on our existence in Spirit. They must be in balance with each other.
Tone 8 is the first day of our new phase of Transformation. The Holiness of the Day relates to the presence of Divine Agency that Intervenes on our behalf. Through an effort from Above, we are given the gift of seeing clearly what is needed, and empowered with a Divine Intention to clear our own way.
Night/AKBAL’s purpose was a Gift of Knowing that Love is always with us. It helps remove the fear of looking so closely at our Self. We are able to accept the lessons Earth would teach us from our own experience. From the Force within the Seed, we know what is good for us. We know the obstacles we place in our own path. On the Day of Divine Justice, we are given the Divine Power to break free.
To cultivate our place to grow we must apply the Force of our Intention upon improvements within our Self that nourish the Spirit. Otherwise, we will only find ourselves in even less fertile environments. We can be held down and drawn into lower vibrations.
Seed encourages us to look at our foundation of living… the fundamental elements of growth. Seed asks us to look at our daily habits of living. We must nourish both the Body and the Spirit, the two sides of our self. Our body is the Holy Temple of our Spirit. So is the mind the seat of our knowledge and intellect. We are asked to clear those experiences and sources of incoming information that are not correspondent with an effort of spiritual growth. What do we take in to our body and mind? Where can we eliminate an influence of negativity? What elements of our lifestyle erode the nourishment we are able to take in? What thoughts do we hang onto that are directly opposed to an effort of growth?
Our greatest challenges are roadblocks we create for our Self. Our bad habits are hard to break. So is it difficult to leave the relationships behind that pull us in the wrong direction. We’re comfortable where we are. At least we know what it is. Though, the wonders we reach for lie in our Unknown experiences. We have yet to see ourselves operating at peak performance that would be made possible by clearing our path. We can look at how much growth we’ve accomplished, even holding on to things we would benefit from letting go. Today, we can imagine just how much Higher we could grow, if we clear but one obstacle from our path. We can work in Harmony with Spirit’s Design of perpetual improvements.
“Seeing Clearly” means we can look at the facts apart from the influence of our emotions. We can remember that Wisdom is drawn from a place of forgiveness. This is not a day to beat our selves up for everything we see that needs to be corrected. We can know that all our faults are forgiven, and once again, forgive our Self. This is the only way we have the courage to see what we need to see.
With the help of Divine Agency we can see exactly what we can do to make our next Seed stronger. Under the Intention of Divine Justice, we will see the improvements we can make to live in Harmony and Equity with our Divine Design. The Divine Intervention to help us carry it out is a gift of clearly seeing where we are, and all that we could become through a balance of effort to elevate the Nature of both sides of our Self… a collaboration between our Human and Spirit Nature. The higher we intend to growth, the deeper our roots need to be.
Through a new Seed of Intention we can accomplish something we gave up on before. Like a Seed we can start with something infinitely small. When we give life to an Intention from a Seed of Spirit, it takes its own course to find what is needed to grow.
To all my relations, may we have the Divine Courage to look at our Human weakness. May we clearly see the choices we make that are opposed to our own Spiritual Growth. May we harness the power of a Divine Agency to make the changes that are needed. May we employ a Force of Spirit to work ourselves around and through the obstacles before us, finding our own fertile path to reach the Light of the Creator. May we know that we were given the Power of a Divine Design to fulfill our Divine Destiny. May we see that what “looks hard” can become “easy” when a Divine Agency Intervenes on our behalf. May we see how one small adjustment can return the Blessing of Spirit that is always multiplied to abundance.

A NEW COMMITMENT TO GRATITUDE:
I’m sharing a the “21-Days of Gratitude” as a perpetual Personal Ceremony through the next journey to 8 Monkey/CHUEN Maya New Year. This 21 days started on 11 Jaguar/IX and ends in synchronicity, on 5 Jaguar/IX – an empowerment born from the Magic of Gratitude. (21 days from Kin 154 to Kin 174).
21-Days of Gratitude: Day 11
I’m grateful that we’re forgiven. It’s easier to make change, free of our Human self-judgement. I’m grateful that through forgiveness we can see ourselves as already perfect, free to imagine the way we’d choose our Human self to be.

8 Seed/KAN (Cherokee, Dragon Ukte’na)
Galactic Tone 8: Harmony and balance; weighing evidence to reach a balance of justice. The power of organization demonstrated in the statement, “as above, so below”; from simplicity to infinity
Seed/KAN: Family, sexual activity and the magic of germination are the characteristics of this sun sign. Natural net workers, Seed people strive to free themselves and others from debt or oppressive patterns of the past. Abundance is gathered by Seeds as if with a cast net. Seed persons are public defenders who work toward uniting community by discovering hidden traps and secret influences of others. To generate true abundance, Seed must learn to appreciate all gifts and lessons received and conduct profound investigations into its self. In the absence of gratefulness and the courage to face oneself, Seed finds itself in less than less fertile environments.
Cherokee, Dragon Ukte’na: The Sky constellation Draco represents this sign. Dragon represents Matriarchy, the Great Mother Figure. Dragon is the Corn Spirit, the dual personality of both Corn Mother and Corn Maiden. This Sign is fertility and procreation, generation to generation.
