MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
One Tone 2 we’re offered a Choice. Inspired by Dog/OC for a Mission of Love, we are given the Free Will to define our own Gift of Love. Just as Mother Earth reflects Love in an unlimited number of ways, we can choose to create our own illustration of Love.
Tone 2 is the Tone of Duality. Our way of choosing is through a our comparison of Higher and Lower frequencies of Love. We look within our Self to see what we believe we are capable to create. And we review our own perception of our Highest Expression of Love.
The Highest Love we can share is drawn from a Source of Love that’s Eternal. When our direction is led by the Light we Believe, our Love would guide others to our Highest Experience of Truth. Even if our Truth changes, we’ve shared our Highest Intention. Even if no one else follows, we can celebrate our own Love.
Monkey/CHUEN holds an Affinity with Dog/OC, both residing side-by-side at the very center of a Sacred Calendar of Creation. Together, Dog/OC and Monkey/CHUEN reflect the characteristics central to the Creator, as a Lover and Master of Creation. Monkey/CHUEN is a creator who sees every experience as a thing of Beauty. Known as the Weaver of Time, CHUEN weaves the tapestry of our Lives into a thing of Beauty. A dynamic experience of Love is seeing how experiences of darkness are changed by the Light.
Monkey is the Master of All Art. The glyph illustrates “time rolled up” on the head of the Monkey. The experiences of our life reflect an unlimited pallet of colors. There’s beauty to be found in putting the different threads together. Monkey is known for its curiosity. Monkey can travel through time to see how one thread connects to another.
Monkey is fascinated by our moments of Joy. Curious to see where it came from, Monkey follows a thread back to its beginning. It loses interest when beauty ceases to be. It scampers from one thing to another because it’s so drawn to beauty.
CHUEN offers mystical experiences of Creation. Monkey is the nuhaul that most closely reflects the unique Human characteristics of Intelligence and a Gift for Creation. Only Human has the gift of traveling through time. We can experience something from long ago and re-experience the realness of it. We can draw wisdom from an archeological treasure within that records a lifetime of personal history.
If we look to our most shining moments, and follow the threads all the way back to their beginning, we would see the Light was a Transformation from Darkness. We would only have to follow a few threads to realize that Beauty is born from a Dream, veiled by darkness.
Monkey/CHUEN resides in the West, the direction of the Unknown experiences of living. By looking at experiences from our past, we can imagine a Dream in our future. The Joy of every Accomplishment began from a place of darkness. CHUEN can teach us to create out of nothing. We can pretend in alternate reality that the Dream already exists. Like Night/AKBAL, the Monkey connects our Intellect and Intuition. The Monkey could put two-and-two together. Finding a dark thread, it could expect that it leads to Light.
Dog/OC brought the best partner of all to help us discern our next creation. The Master of All Art hands us the thread to our future. We are free to imagine anything we want at the other end. Instead of wondering if we “can” or “can’t,” we can imagine “this” or “that.” We can create anything we want in our imagination.
We can Discern our Gift, following the passion of our Heart. Creating from an Intention of Purity, it doesn’t matter how the gift is received. Not everyone will want what we offer. Dog wouldn’t care, and Monkey would Create for its own Amusement (a practical application of Unconditional Love). Seeking the approval of others, redirects us from our Divine Source of Inspiration.
Dog/OC takes advantage of opportunity. Monkey/CHUEN guides us to create a thing of beauty. The best ingredients for creation are the ones close at hand. As we Dream of the Kindness we might share, we can consider the place it can bring the most happiness.
To all my relations, may we cling to the Inspiration of a Divine Creator to Discern our Highest Intention. May we detach ourselves from the need for worldly approval. Only we can define our Unknown and see the clear image in our imagination. Dog never seems to mind getting dirty. We can afford to be seen in the chaos that will precede our own Genius. May we see that the Freedom to Create was a gift of Joy, equal to Unconditional Love.
in lak’ech, I am another you

2 Monkey Chuen (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI )
Galactic Tone 2: Duality; Mysterious as the question “to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the May as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. It is also considered to be one of the most fortunate and lucky day signs.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: The Racoon Symbol is Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy. Magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page.
