MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 13 is the Day of Ascension from the Eagle/MEN trecena. From a Higher Perspective we could see our Human suffering as the result of our unconsciousness. Through Eagle’s eyes we could see small things from a great distance. Looking into the future, we saw small accomplishments in their right size. From the ground, we could only see their influence in the “now.”
We Ascend with a Higher Consciousness that each small step led by Spirit is a “Miracle.”
Deer/MANIK holds Power and Authority through a Divine Connection. The glyph illustrates the Hand (another name for MANIK) that grasps a thread of Ether between the forefinger and the thumb. The forefinger represents Human intention, and the thumb, our Human authority.
The Sacred Right of Choice was offered to Human as the authority of our own Free Will. In a Human Intention to sacrifice our Authority to Divine Will, we we make a way to Know the Meaning and Purpose the Creator Intends for us. Our Human sacrifice of authority gives our permission to Be Reborn as we were Intended to Be.
The Two Sides of our Self are reconciled through a Divine Relationship. We become Human operating under a Higher Authority, grasping the Power that transcends our Human Nature.
The Maya used pictures and archetypes as their means of communicating thoughts and ideas. Like a picture is worth a thousand words, an archetype expresses exponentially more as an “image of a personality.” As we bear the Fruit of a Spiritual Harvest, a Divine Creator wanted us to see our Self from a Higher Perspective. Our Fruit is on the Vine for us to see.
The Eagle/MEN trecena has been guiding us to see our Self from the perspective of a Heavenly Creator. 13 Deer/MANIK is the Archetype that reflects the Spiritual Identity that was intended for us.
13 represents the Intention. 13 is the number of theurgy, Human’s ability through ritual and ceremony to call on the Creator for Divine Intervention in Human affairs. We were born to Experience a Relationship we could turn to for Higher Power.
MANIK is the symbol of the Mayan priest, the shaman that sacrifices itself to others as a leader of Divine Authority. MANIK is the bringer of Spiritual Tools, said to keep every tool its ever used. Spiritual Tools are the gifts of Consciousness that are shared through a Divine Connection.
Vigilance is Deer’s primary system of self-defense. Deer protects the community by standing very still in the center of its 4 directions. Every movement made by Deer is motivated by purpose. As Deer we can stand silently in our own Truth. We consciously choose when to stand and when to move, trusting in our Discernment of Divine Truth.
Deer holds the Power of Harmonic Resonance. Deer emits the Vibration of Pure Love that draws lower frequencies into sympathy. The Mayan priest is not a “preacher.” The Mayan priest leads the community to Sacred Ceremony where they would experience their own Divine Connection. To maintain its position of Authority, Deer applies vigilance to maintain its Highest Integrity. Those who follow the Deer, Know they will be led in the direction that serves the Whole.
We were born to Know the Experience of our Transformation. Eagle/MEN lifted us up to see the progress of our Spiritual Evolution. On a Day of Ascension we can see the “Miracle” of a new state of Consciousness, a new way of seeing our Self.
It’s a “Miracle” when Human reaches for a Higher Meaning and Purpose. The Dream itself is evidence of our Spiritual Consciousness. Our Lower Consciousness runs on the instinct of survival. When the Human mind runs on “automatic” our sole focus is our next Human need. With Human survival at stake, our Lower Self fears there’s not enough to go around. The only solution the Human mind can conceive is to find Peace through a War for Power and Control.
Deer/MANIK draws attention to our Human limitations to prove there’s a Spiritual Tool to overcome them. As Deer, we could stand just as we are, relying on a Power that exceeds our Human limitations.
Human’s Choice to believe in something beyond reason is a “Miracle.” It is the evidence that our Divine Spark of Consciousness holds the position of Authority. The connection we hold through this Divine Spark opens our Human Consciousness to Divine Inspiration. This Communion is the “Miracle” that generates the Faith to live in a way that is contrary to our Human Nature. A Human that reaches to Grasp the Ether of Spirit is the witness to a “Miracle” of Divine Consciousness.
The Choice can seem so small, yet it holds the power to change our entire Human experience. The Intention to sacrifice everything for a Divine Experience is opposite of our Human Nature. Just as our Human identity was given a physical world to live in, so was our Spirit given a world. Our Spirit is an Ethereal Being of unlimited possibility, capable to pass through matter, time, and dimension. Everything that it needs is eternally at hand, multiplied to abundance.
Connected to Divine Spirit we become Conscious of the Power between the Above and the Below. We would choose a realm of Unlimited Possibility as our “primary reality,” as we become Conscious that the rest of the world will be Balanced in Harmony.
Deer/MANIK is said to uphold the pillars of the 4. MANIK upholds the Pillars of the Spiritual World we choose to live in through its Vigilant Consciousness of the Divinity of the Creator.
Master Number 13:13 – This is the first 13th Tone in the 13th Uinal, doubling the power of an Intention of Ascension. 13 reflects our Power to Create our own Reality and to Manifest our Dreams. We have one more Ascension to go in this round of the Tzolk’in, on 13 Sun/AHAU. 13 Deer/MANIK raises our Consciousness to our Human purpose in the Down Below. Under the trecena of Star/LAMAT we will be Reborn to our Intention in the Up Above.
A Day of Ascension is a milestone for celebration. We were created to experience our own Transformation. Every 13 days we accumulate the Wisdom of Experience that can effect a change. The Sacred Cycle of Creation manifests a new world of experience with every turn.
To all my relations, may we Acknowledge the “supernatural” nature of our Spirit. May we consider the different Truths that would apply to a body of Ether. Our Highest Thoughts have no boundaries, and their influence is not limited by dimension or reality. May we see that we were Born with something special to give. We were each made different to create our own Expression of Unconditional Love. Every Human was created to be different Archetype of the Creator’s Love… Unconditional Love expressing itself in an unlimited number of ways, Light that would guide Humanity to the Truth of the Creator… the Truth of Unconditional Love and a Divine Purpose for living.

13 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)
Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
