Algiz – Symbol of the Sage that knows the Highest Meaning and Purpose of our Life – to Save another.
Greetings Beloved Kin,
I didn’t account for 1 Deer/MANIK along with 11 Deer/MANIK as the Year Bearer. All we have to do is dedicate a path to an altar and use the staff of the Highest Truth – a Divine Provision for every Human limitation!
This same time last year I remember a First Light of Knowing.

The Journal Before, for Now

1 Deer / MANIK
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

1 Deer/MANIK, Destiny Kin 27
Greetings Beloved Kin,
Holding the Truth of Spirit as an Object of our Affection, we were Raised by Truth about our Self that created a whole new ending to a Dream of Life we imagined before. We were trying to “get our old self” to change, when we’re New Every Day. We learned our Human limitation is only Forgetting the Truth that’s already known within.
Deer/MANIK is the Light and the Way to never forget. 1 Deer/MANIK is the Creator’s Intention for us to Stand on our Own in Divine Communion. Making the Music of Love, others will follow, when it’s Their Choice. It has to be A CONSCIOUS PERSONAL Choice, not another thing Human has to figure out how to be.
13 CIMI guided the 1st journey for a Human application of Higher Truth. When Human reaches for Divine Wisdom, the end will always be an Answer to our Prayers. The Human mind can accept the Divine Truth when it complies with the Universal Law of Cause and Effect. If we look once more, we can see Truth takes Time, and the Willingness and Intention to find the treasure.
The next Higher Truth we need to find is our Meaning and Purpose to be. Joseph Rael, “Beautiful Painted Arrow,” says, “You were given a life. What will you do with it?”
TRECENA OF LIGHT
Deer/MANIK guides the Light for a Divine Inspiration. MANIK is the Day Sign of the Mayan priest, who holds all the Spiritual Tools that have been passed down through the generations. MANIK weaves a Divine fabric for Life wearing a path back and forth to an altar. MANIK is the nahaul of Vigilant Consciousness that stands on the Truth. With a leg to plant in each of the 4 directions, the Deer is a symbol of Stability. Through the vigilant application of Divine Truths, MANIK builds the pillars for Faith to stand.
GLOBAL BURNER: 4 Dog/OC
Residual energy is burned away at the Center of each Season. 4 Dog/OC marks the center of the 1st Season for the Stability of Unconditional Love. On Global Burners the priest carries out the Sacred Fire Ceremonies on behalf of the Whole to restore Right Relationship in the Community. On days leading up the the Global Burner we are more likely to feel the symptoms of stress building up to a big release. Through the Element of Fire, the flesh of our Ego is burned away and we are Restored to Right Relationship.
The Mission of the Mayan priest is to Count the Days and to carry out the rituals and sacred ceremonies on behalf of the Whole. The Mayan priest was consulted for the Times chosen for major events, weddings, and family planning. Intentions were given a Divine Time to mark their beginning for a Divine Time to be at every major end. Through an application of Divine Time, Human could hold Faith in the Future.
The glyph illustrates the Hand, another name for MANIK, that reaches to grasp the thread of Light to be connected to a Divine Circuit of the Creator’s Power. Connected to the One we see the Reason for Love is a Dream for the Future. We reach to find the future in one another, through a Promise for Love. Deer/MANIK is the Consciousness of Knowing that Love Came Before we were born that already Promised an ending more beautiful than we could imagine. We don’t have to compromise our own Vision of Love for a lower offering of Human Love, when we know that everything will be okay. Through a Divine Relationship we hold the strength to stand today for tomorrow. We weren’t intended to lean on one another as our way. We were all given the Power to Stand in the Light of our own Truth. Love will bend our heart to those who are reaching in the darkness.
Deer/MANIK shares the Freedom to Love through Unconditional Love. MANIK holds the Gift of Harmonic Resonance. We’ll weave the Truth of Love into every picture when we are carrying on our Life, Believing in our own Future and the Future of the Whole, through the dedication of a daily practice. We learned that Human’s greatest limitation is that we Forget. MANIK doesn’t guide a way to be. The Mission is to be a Light to Remember the power of our own prayers.
MANIK resides in the West, the direction of our Unknown Future. In the 2nd uinal we will be making choices of all kinds to find our own way. We are a New Seed of Higher Consciousness. Through the Vigilant Consciousness to follow the Wisdom of our own Experience, we will know we are Creating our Future. When we choose a Divine End, knowing a Supreme Creator will carry us to even Higher Ground, a Divine Provision for the Future will be our own Truth.
Holding the Element of Water, MANIK uses the substance that holds the Ether of Spirit for the purpose of Blessings, Initiations, Baptisms, and Purification. The Deer’s Light shines for every path that leads to a prayer for Faith and Love. When the sacred fires are burning, the smoke rising from the prayers of the Mayan priest remind the Whole of a Divine Provision – the Gift that can carry Human thoughts to a Divine Discernment of Love.
We can learn a lot through Vigilant Consciousness and the Patience of Reflection. Sometimes human language changes the meanings of the words. From a book report on American history I found that we often changed verbs into nouns. For example, “notice” began as a verb. We used the same word when we tacted up a “Notice” to be seen. “Notice” was changed to be known as an inanimate object, a piece of paper, instead of an action (eg. OBject/obJECT, PREsent/preSENT). Sometimes we need to see things backwards to know the Truth. We redefined the meaning “to witness.” To witness means “to see.” When we are witnessing the Light of the Creator’s Unconditional Love, we won’t have to Sell the Power. The Faith, Hope, and Charity that comes from seeing and believing in tomorrow will shine the Light of a way.
To all my relations, may we dedicate a time at the altar to kneel in humility to a Light Above that will guide a way to our Divine Future. May we serve as a Light for the Whole, leaving a trail of Truth behind that tomorrow will be Beautiful, even more Beautiful than today. May our heart be opened to the threads as “a witness of Hope” that we can share as a thought to connect another Human Mind to the Consciousness of Light, Love, and Happiness.
May we remember all the ways the Creator has Loved us, being there when we fall, lifting us to believe in our Highest Dreams. The Dream for Love that everyone holds is Love that’s Here today and tomorrow. May we be inspired by the Light to Believe in a Divine Future and to share that Truth with the Whole.
May we claim the Light in the darkness of a new beginning. May we be thankful for a Divine Creator who defined Love as Being, a Noun that defines the whole Creation, and the Verb that defines the Way. May we remember the Answer to our Prayer. “All that is not” is the reflection of our Dream as it appears behind a veil. May we create the threads and thoughts to weave a veil of Love as the 1st Truth of everything.
Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Great Spirit, we give thanks for another Day of Light and the Wisdom of your inheritance. Help us find our way.
in lak’ech, I am another you,
Debra, Jaguar Woman, 9 Eagle/MEN
HOLDING THE WAY OF THE JAGUAR: The Power of Gratitude
I’m grateful for the Power of Sacred Ceremony.
REMEMBERING OUR GRANDFATHER “TATA” DON ALEJANDRO:

May we also remember Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj is the 13th Generation High Priest and Spiritual Leader of the Maya. It was his destiny to share the Mayan calendar with the world in the time of the 13th Baktun. Our Tata is now 93-94 years old and still carries on his prayers for the Whole.
He has carried his Love around the world to join hearts of the indigenous tribes to raise our songs together. May we give thanks for those who Dedicate Time to weaving a Light for Love.
The Elders say that the high priests receive the Love of our Prayers. All we have to do is send some Light and they will know.
Don Alejandro lives near Antigua. If you would like to make a donation to his medical care, you can contact his intermediary, Joseph Giove at jgiove@commonpassion.org for instructions. I checked for an update and am glad to say that Tata has been feeling better and still carries on.

1 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)
Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
