The Meaning and Purpose
THE TRECENA OF DOG/OC: CREATING BONDS OF LOVE
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Beloved Kin,
Everything created has a meaning and purpose. “God the Creator,” Elohim, applied the Gift of Consciousness to its Highest Meaning and Purpose, when the Creation was born of Love.
Our Gifts were given to use for the purpose of generating the Power of Love. Love set the Creation into perpetual motion. There is Harmony in every expression that is born through waves of Love. The Highest and the Lows inspire symphonies.
Human’s Gift of Consciousness is solely at our command. The Holy Spirit isn’t our butler. We have to keep the fires burning to know the passion of Love. God uses our Consciousness to carry on the Conversation.
The “Watchman” stands as a sentinel of Consciousness in the Communion of Prayer. The Mayan calendar offers prayers for the Hours and Days, each “lord of the Day” is an aspect of the Creator’s body of thoughts. The Bible offers the Meaning and Purpose of Time by the Watches of prayer for every hour of All Days.
Our Watch is for the lies, doubts and fears that near the boundaries of our Sovereign Body of Thoughts. Darkness can’t come near when our attention is turned to the Light. What effect could we expect if we applied Consciousness to the Meaning of the Time of Prayer? If the Intention is Communion, we’ll be rewarded for the Reason we tried.
One thing can lead to another. We have to assume, we don’t know everything.
Monkey/CHUEN is the personification of “God the Creator’s” powers of Creation. The Gift shared with Human includes a Sense of Curiosity and a Sense of Humor. The creation of Music, Art, Form or Function are abstract expressions of Divine Inspiration. We were gifted with the means to communicate about concepts and applications of everything we know by our 5 senses.
Below are the 8 Watches by the Time of Day that were based on scripture. (I’m looking for the scriptural references.) The Bible opened to Lamentations, a chapter of “God’s Wrath” by the letter of the Law. Lamentations are an outpouring of sorrows and everything that God inflicted on unfaithful Humans. It outlines the Law of consequences of sin: death, misery, and famine.
Christ fulfilled the Covenant of Love when he followed God’s Will to Calvary. We can’t be perfect, though we can grow to meet the “Calvary” of daily life. Experiences are the means to Manifest Wisdom.
Lamentations wouldn’t have been my choice for easy reading. The Word of God is a Living Conversation. When our attention is turned to the Word, we are atoned with the thoughts of God. I stumbled across mention of the “1st Watch of the Night.” The meaning of the Time corresponds with the 1st watch of the Night below.
Lamentations 2:19 KJV
“Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before thee face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of they young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.”
The Prophet Micah “Watches.”
Micah 7:7-8
7 But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. 8 Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.
Both scriptures could relate to the 1st Watch of the Night, 6:00pm – 9:00pm. After Sundown was Time ordered to open the door and prepare to receive the Light. We can Give Thanks that Intentions of Love will create unseen Waves of Harmony in the Universe.
How to pray Micah 7:7
Dear Heavenly Father, our Eternal King and Redeemer, we thank you for a new day which presents an opportunity for us to begin anew. As darkness gives way to light and new wisdom in that light, so we look towards you, Father, waiting in patience and perseverance to behold the divine light of your Countenance. The 8 Watches – The Hebrew calendar days begin and end at Sundown.
If we’re praying at any of these times, we have been called to the watch. God is Calling Day and Night.

The 1st 2 Seasons of the Tzolk’in were about understanding who we are and the Gifts we were given to Create. The last 2 seasons connect us to the Creator’s Hand of Divine Agency. Being watchful is the means to realize the Truth of Answered Prayers.
I’m on the Night’s 1st Watch here (02/06). Thoughts were drawn to contemplate a new foundation of prayer. One pyramid was built over another to reach greater heights. We have to keep accelerating to realize that we’re moving forward. All we want is some sign we’re making progress in realizing God is Here. Our Spirit expands through perpetual motion. You can do the dishes in the Name of God and he’ll be there.
There are unlimited ways to accomplish the same thing. We can shed our skin and cast off the familiar to Create the Chaos of change. The season of Lent is about casting off a worldly attachment and reinvesting the energy in an Intention of Love, Respect, and Adoration. Lent is around the corner, Wed, Mar 5, 2025 – Thu, Apr 17, 2025. We have Time to learn by experience what our most Divine Offering might be. One thing can lead to another.
Lamentations 3:31-33
“For the Lord will not cast off for ever: 32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. 33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.”
in lak’ech, i am another you,
Debra, 9 Eagle/MEN
GRATITUDE: THE POWER OF MANIFESTATION
I’m grateful for your watch, whatever schedule you’re on, creating the waves of Love.
Creating Bonds of Love: Faith and Hope Restored in Jackie and Shadow’s nest.
Shadow disappeared for about 3 days during the last storm. It seemed he’d lost hope as Jackie was buried in snow. They were unsuccessful at hatching a family last year. When he returned they created a 3rd egg – increasing the odds. Now they have turned their attention from the fluff for babies, to bringing the big sticks that bigger chicks need to grasp and test their wings. They’ve turned to thoughts of the future and now Shadow is all-in. Fair weather is forecast thru Feb 20, 2025. Hatchlings are possible by month-end. (You can identify Jackie by the spot on her head.)

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide Page for the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” My gift for the Tzolk’in round offers an overview for each 13-day trecena and the aspects of each day of the Tzolk’in round. The page also offers a link to resources for your own practice of counting the days to conceive your own discernment of the Meaning of Time.
NEW SEASON – VOLUME 2: Tzolk’in Seasons 3 and 4 (PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 20, 2020)
NOTE: Use the Kin Calculator offered on the Daykeeper’s Resource Page for a Mayan date six years before or after. If you are just starting to count the days and don’t have a journal from the last round, calculate the Mayan date of major events that you do remember. You can also look for Signs in the “duration of time.” Example – 33 days is a symbol of a day that you actualize the Truth from the beginning date. You can calculate the meaning of the day 33 after you realized a Truth to consider the lesson that was turned to Divine Wisdom. Life is a game of higher dimensions.
2 Monkey Chuen (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI ) – Day 2 of 13 of the 1 Dog/OC trecena
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 2: Duality; Mysterious as the question “to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the May as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. It is also considered to be one of the most fortunate and lucky day signs.
A GOOD DAY TO: Begin anything new in your life.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: The Racoon Symbol is Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy. Magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.
[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page. ~Debra]
