Full Thunder Moon Cycle: A Bolt Out of the Blue

New Moon, June 25; Full Moon, July 10-11, 2025

The Full Thunder Moon of July

July’s full moon is called the Full Thunder Moon, after the frequent thunderstorms that roll in during early summer. Thunderstorms are more likely to form in humid environments during summer because of the moist, hot air rising from the ground to the higher, colder parts of our atmosphere. The Full Thunder Moon is, therefore, a warning sign for a surprisingly dangerous time of the year.

Did you know that you are more likely to get hit by lightning twice in your lifetime than win the Powerball lottery, and that summer is usually when most lightning fatalities happen? As the Full Thunder Moon rises to prominence during the warm summer months, people are more likely to be taking part in outdoor activities, which increases their risk of being hit by the frequent thunder and lightning strikes that happen during this period. Everyone knows to avoid trees and bodies of water during thunderstorms, but that basic precaution alone is not enough.

According to experts, you should head inside a safe building immediately when you hear thunder, no matter how safe you think you are. Lightning can strike from up to 10 miles away, and nothing can protect you when you’re outdoors. Wearing rubber soles or crouching down low will not stop lightning from hurting you. Lying down on the ground is an even worse idea, as it’ll make you even more vulnerable to currents traveling through the ground. (More on MoonGiant.com)

Mayan Calendar Time

We learned from Storm/CAUAC that when there’s a thunderstorm on the horizon it’s Time to find Sanctuary. This cycle begins with the New Moon. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 is 10 Offering/MULUC, a symbol of the Christ Spirit and a Day intended to Give Back and Pay Forward. MULUC relates to the Moon, Emotions, and Water everywhere from the cosmos to our own tears. It’s a Day to Honor our feelings and the feelings of others.

The Full Thunder Moon straddles July 10th and 11th, 12 Seed/KAN and 13 Serpent/CHICCAN. Seed/KAN is the Spark within and the Serpent/CHICCHAN is the Power from Above that ignites our Passion to Create. CHICCHAN relates to the Yod and being touched by the Hand of God. The Question at the New Moon is what would we Give Back as an Offering that acknowledges the value of what we expect to receive.

The potential for thunderstorms begins with the New Moon, in the trecena of Sun/AHAU. At the New Moon we are drawn within to the Sanctuary where we Manifest the Truth of God with us.

On Thursday, July 10 we reach the Day of Understanding. Seed/KAN offers a gift of self reflection that supports a thorough inspection of who we are created to be, and the conditions that are necessary to grow to our highest potential.

Thursday is associated with the planet Jupiter. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, abundance, generosity, and good fortune, according to the Times of India. It’s considered a day for growth, both personally and professionally, and for sharing one’s blessings. Thursday is observed by mystic traditions as the best Day of the week for seeking higher knowledge. On Friday, 13 Serpent/CHICCAN (July 11, 2025) is the Ascension and a Prayer Answered by a Revelation of Light. At our Ascension we realize what the Truth means and the future intended by the Creator.

Wait on the Lord with an Offering of Faith at the beginning. The Truth will be revealed at the end, like a bolt out of the blue. CHICCHAN quickens our Spirit, grabs our heart, and sends blood rushing to the Crown. CHICCHAN is a strike of “lightning in the blood.”

Through a Divine Relationship of Fear and Respect for God’s Almighty Power, the Fire of Spirit can ignite a Dream for Creation. When we KNOW the Divine Inspiration was shared from Above, we’ll know that it’s not only possible, but meant to be.

June 25: New Moon

The New Moon will occur on June 25 at 10:31 GMT. At this point, our natural satellite will stay between the Earth and the Sun, so its bright side will be facing away from the Earth. It’s the best time for stargazing because the Moon’s light won’t hinder the view. MULUC offers a healing to emotions on a Mass Scale by the Offering of the Christ Spirit.

Feelings come and go. God wants us to Choose Faith in the Balance of a Discernment of Heart and Mind. Our Faith won’t waver when we comprehend a reason that lies beyond the rule of our emotions. There are going to be days when we don’t Feel our Faith. We may be caught up in our emotions with the High Tide of the New Moon.

We’re guided to go with the flow, even when we feel that we’ve “lost our connection.” God knows we want to Feel the Truth. Our Faith will be justified on the Full Moon. And on 13 Serpent/CHICCHAN we’ll be restored by a Power beyond Human Understanding.

Summer is the season to take in the Light of the Sun by Day, and to enjoy the fruits of the first harvests. Storms will come and storms will go, when we hold faith in the promise of abundance at the Harvest Moon.

Solar radiation storms increase the voltage of Earth. Some farmers plant copper coils near their crops to accelerate growth. We can increase our voltage by planting our feet on Mother Earth, and by digging in the dirt.

I discovered an orchard near me where you can pick your own blackberries thru the end of June, and a week or two beyond. Peaches will be in Season early in July. There seems to be few community venues that don’t pose a threat of personal safety. An orchard is a place where Nature Lovers are likely to gather. It’s been decades since I picked peaches ripened on the tree. But I remember how soft and sweet they were.

Georgia is the peach capital of the USA. If you live in Georgia, eat some Peach ice cream for me – and boiled peanuts.

6 Serpent/CHICCHAN (Cherokee, Serpent Do’tsi) – Day 6 of 13 of the 1 Sun/AHAU trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in FREE CALCULATOR preserved on MayanMajix.com.

Galactic Tone 6: Flow. Six is responsiveness and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for flexibility and fluidity.
