SPACEWEATHER: Another Major Solar Flare (X4-Class) from Sunspot AR4274

Another CME Hurled into Space

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 11/14/2025

ANOTHER MAJOR SOLAR FLARE: Sunspot 4274 erupted again today (0800 UTC), producing an X4-class solar flare. Extreme ultraviolet radiation from the flare caused a shortwave radio blackout over the Indian Ocean. More importantly, the explosion hurled a CME into space:

Most of this fast-moving CME will miss Earth. However, a NASA model (above) suggests that it could deliver a glancing blow to our planet’s magnetic field late on Nov. 16th. If so, the impact could spark minor to moderate (G1/G2) geomagnetic storms. That would be nothing like the severe storms of Nov. 11/12, but still a nice display of auroras for high-latitude sky watchers.

THE (11:11) ARMISTICE DAY STORM IS OVER: After two full days of widespread auroras, the Armistice Day geomagnetic storm is over. The storm began on Nov. 11th when a pair of closely-spaced CMEs hit Earth, then continued on Nov. 12th with the arrival of a third CME. Peak levels registered severe (G4) with many hours of strong (G3) as well.

Did you experience any GPS related difficulties?

DID THE SOLAR STORM CONFUSE THIS LAWN MOWER? In May 2024, many farmers were dumbfounded when their GPS-guided tractors suddenly went off course. “Our tractors acted like they were demon possessed,” reported one observer. The problem was caused by a severe geomagnetic storm.

It might have just happened again–to a lawn mower:

“I have a Lymow One Robotic Lawn Mower,” says Carl LeFebvre of Dunedin, Florida. “It uses GPS/RTK to stay on track and is usually accurate down to a centimeter or two. On Nov. 11, 2025, the mower kept wandering off into the garden beds and chewing on flowers instead of its normal diet of turf grass. It didn’t occur to me that it might have been related to the solar storms, until I read the article on Spaceweather.com.”

Solar activity poses a growing problem for GPS-guided machines. During big solar storms, the ionosphere fills with bubbleswaves, and turbulence, which distort radio signals from GPS satellites. Severely garbled signals can stop harvesters in their tracks or send lawn mowers into the flower bed.

Readers, if your GPS-guided equipment went off course on Nov. 11-12, let us know.

The Sun Today
Sunspot 4274 still harbors energy for X-Class flares, though it is turning to the farside. There is a coronal hole that could graze Earth on November 17, 2025.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

9 Monkey/CHUEN is a High Holy Day by the Mayan calendar representing a Union between heaven and earth. Sunspot 4274 has been sharing Peak activity for an entire Solar rotation. Will it still be there when the Sun turns around again? That rarely happens.

The Sun is making its presence known and a major influence over life on Earth – at least when it relates to knowing “where we’re going” from “where we’ve been.” (I would depend on GPS right now to know the Truth.)

Monkey/CHUEN holds Position 11 – the symbol of the Source and Substance of Divine Inspiration. The Sun has turned our thoughts to Time and Place.

Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine, plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. A completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.

Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.

A GOOD TIME TO: Begin anything new in  your life.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoon is full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy. Magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.

Perseus is the Hero who carries away Medusa’s head, enclosed in a “purse” that prevents anyone from seeing the evil eyes that bring death to life and love. Venus is rising as the Morning Star until reaches the Sun and disappears as the 2 Lights shine as 1.
