The Wesak Celebration, the Full Flower Moon and Lunar Eclipse, May 5, 2023

LIONSROAR.COM – Celebrating WESAK/VESAK, or “Buddha Day”

Vesak, also known as “Buddha Day” falls on May 5 this year. It marks the birth, enlightenment, and death of the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, born 2,600 years ago. These three significant events in the Buddha’s life are all said to have happened on the same day many years apart.

Vesak is observed on different days year-to-year, as celebrations are planned for the first full moon of May, the month of Vesakha in Hindu and Buddhist calendars. Buddhists in China, however, follow the Chinese lunar calendar to plan their Vesak celebrations, and observe the holiday on the eighth day of the fourth month of the lunar year. If it’s a leap year, the day often falls in June.

In each place where Vesak is celebrated, devotees typically assemble in their local temples for a ceremonial hoisting of the Buddhist flag and a singing of hymns praising the three jewels. Offerings of flowers, candles, and burning incense are made. From there, the method of celebration varies from place to place. Paper lanterns are lit and released into water and sky in South Korea and Indonesia, while extravagant light displays illustrate the Buddha’s life in Sri Lanka.

HOLY OBSERVANCE: CELEBRATION & INITIATION OF THE MAYAN PRIEST

Greetings Beloved Kin,

8 Deer/MANIK

Peak Tone 8 begins the Transformation phase of the 13-day trecena. Number 8 is a symbol of life and abundance to infinity. The Mayan word for Number 8, WAXAJQIB, is defined as “pure Spirit.” Tone 8 holds the Intention of Justice in Harmony and Equity with the whole. The 8th hour of Light is the Zenith Hour, beyond the Center of Human’s creation on the 7th Day of the 7 days and 6 nights (13 days).

8 Deer/MANIK is exalted in the Light of Divine Justice, the balance of Zero. The Celebration of the Mayan priest honors the one who carries on in the darkness and the Light. The Deer is a symbol of standing in the Truth of Integrity. To stand in Right Relationship with the whole, we have to admit that we are no better and no worse. We earn the Crown for carrying on. The priest carries on to Know the Truth of Salvation and the Righteousness of a Divine Intention to be the Hand Below that serves the Hand Above.

James 1:12 NIV
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

The glyph illustrates the Hand, another name for MANIK, grasping a thread of Ether that completes a circuit of Divine Power where our hearts are welded to the One Above. The circle on the Hand represents the Vigilant Eye of the Deer. The Deer is a symbol of stability with a leg to stand in each of the 4 directions. Vigilance is the only way for our own Faith to stand through every experience of Life and know Beauty that lies in the Balance of Zero.

Podcast: I can’t, I can’t, I can’t – well – maybe

Greetings Beloved Kin,

You can’t win or fail unless you DO something. I’m sharing my first podcast of a series about making your dreams come true.

You’ll find it on my Basics of Life Blog. If you haven’t been there before, I hope you’ll give me a hand and like and subscribe. I took the “10 days after the Lion’s Gate” thing to heart, and needed to start something new.

I guess I’ll figure it out as I go!

much love, in lak’ech, Debra

THE TRECENA OF SUN/AHAU: APPLYING THE LIGHT & DIVINE TRUTH TO LIFE

8 Deer / MANIK

Greetings Beloved Kin,

For every Time there is a season. This round of the Tzolk’in is in sync with Mother Earth’s Time. The Haab count symbolizes a Human experience on a planetary scale. In the order of Divine Timing, the Creator offered the Season of Harvest when all things in the down below are multiplied to abundance. The Truth was magnified by the Lion’s Gate on 08/08, Julian Date 220. (Destiny Kin 220 is 12 Sun/AHAU, Ian Xel Lungold’s Mayan birthday.)

Tone 8 holds the Intention of Justice in  Harmony and Equity for the Whole. Balance for all things is the Highest Order. Universal Laws are balanced in both the physical and spiritual plane of reality. 8 is the symbol of eternal life, infinity, and abundance. The Maya regard it as the symbol of “pure spirit.” Divine Justice is the Creator’s Absolute Intention for all of us. Life would never be fair and balanced if Justice didn’t apply to everyone the same. So it is written, spoken by the prophets as a Divine Order.

“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and please the widow’s cause,” (Isaiah 1:17). “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

HOLY OBSERVANCE: 8 Deer/MANIK, Kin 47, Honoring the Energy and Way of the Mayan Priest
(10 Days Beyond the Lion’s Gate: August 18, 2022 – 08/18/2022; Julian Date: 232)

This is a Day to Honor the Divine Inheritance of Wisdom that came before… Light to find our way to the Truth of Everything. The Spirit of Mother Earth is Unseen, until we look for it. We find it in the Signs and Symbols woven into the Divine Design. We were given the way to stand in any kind of weather.

One Above is the all-powerful defender. Silence expresses that the Truth speaks for itself. The roots of the Buddhist tradition are aligned with One Golden Rule – “See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil.” All things are transitory in their own process of becoming. The Deer is Vigilant, dedicated to the path of Humility. The Deer’s Mission is an Offering that manifests Atonement with the Creator’s wisdom on the scale of Human experience.

The Mayan priest doesn’t hold Sunday service or lay down any rules. The Mayan priest Counts the Days, and carries out the Sacred Ceremonies on behalf of the whole. The only truth spoken is the Promises of Time that lie in the future, and Divine Guidance, when we CHOOSE to see. We don’t do any good when sharing unsolicited advice. Who knows our whole story, but the details we are willing to share when we REALLY need to know our way. A Divine Creator will always speak on our behalf in the end. We know Our Divine Justice, when the Highest Authority balances the score.

8 Deer / MANIK – Guided by the Light: Day 8 of 13

THE TRECENA OF SUN/AHAU: APPLYING THE LIGHT TO LIFE

Greetings Beloved Kin,

Today a dedicated path to the altar is Consecrated and Blessed as the way of Beauty that always leads us to the Highest Ends. Our Mission is to Raise the Light for the Whole. The Vigilant Eye of the Deer is the Divine Way to Never Forget where a Light Shines directly from Above. May we claim the blessing poured out as Holy Water to grasp the Truth of the One who will never let go. May we Count our Blessings for Time that marked the Sacred Day we found our way home.

MANIK holds Position 7, offering the Highest View from the Top of the Pyramid to see “all that is beautiful” in every direction. Through the Harmony of Love, when one knee bends another will follow.

Love, in lak’ech, Debra

Greetings Kin,

Peak Tone 8 begins the Transformation phase of the trecena. Marked as a Holy Day, the Number 8 is defined as “pure spirit.” The Intention is Divine Justice, a Gift of Harmony and Equity with the Whole. The 8th hour begins at the end of the Sun’s zenith Light.

Our Highest Truth is the Promise that Life will be Fair. On Tone 8 we are raised to believe the Truth.

Deer/MANIK leads the Divine Path of our Mission and Purpose. The sign of the Mayan priest employs its faculty of Vigilant Consciousness to grasp the Truth of a Divine Power Above. The glyph illustrates the  Hand, another name for MANIK, that reaches to grasp a thread of Divine Truth that will complete the circuit to a Divine Source of Power.

MANIK is a symbol of stability, with a leg to stand in each of the 4 directions. The Deer applies the Light to look for the Peace where Faith can stand. There is a place for us that is defended by a Higher One, like the Mayan priest prepares our Holy Ground. MANIK holds the Gift of Harmonic Resonance. When one walks a path of Beauty, others are inclined to follow.

HOLY DAY: INITIATION OF THE MAYAN PRIEST
8 Deer/MANIK marks the Holy Day of a Divine Initiation. We were born as the Scion to reflect the Creator’s Love and a Vision of Beauty. Our Divine Mission is to raise the Truth on Earth. The Deer’s Gift is the Vigilant Eye to see the Truth. Deer/MANIK believes on behalf of the Whole, counting the days that share the Light of Truth. On 8 Deer/MANIK the Maya celebrate the ones that dedicate themselves to the purpose. Our path is consecrated as the Divine Way to complete the end. To fulfill the mission, we only have to train our eyes on the Beauty of moving back and forth, to our Place in the Light.

Red Deer, Minisa Crumbo Halsey – Shared on 8 Deer/MANIK, Initiation Day

Greetings Kin,

Minisa shared this beauty this morning. It hangs in her home at Spirit Horse Ranch in Mounds, Oklahoma and brings back many memories.

Minisa shared the traditional path of the Hopi/Tewa, Muskogee/Creek and Potowatomie.  So did every member of the Medicine Circle in Oklahoma share many ways. The circle carry on their prayers for the whole through the drums and song. I give thanks for the harmonic resonance they create to uphold the pillars of faith.

8 Deer / MANIK – A Journey of Illumination: Day 8 of 13

THE TRECENA OF SUN/AHAU LEADS THE HIGHEST WAY

8 Deer / MANIK

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

Tone 8 holds the Intention of the Justice of Harmony and Equity. Number 8 is a symbol of “pure spirit,” Life and Abundance to infinity. Tone 8 begins the Transformation of Consciousness that holds blessings that reach beyond our Time and Place to the Destiny of the Whole.

On Tone 8 we begin to Conceive a Higher Reason to Believe. The Transformation phase of the trecena is illustrated as the descending stairs of the pyramid. Through a Divine Reflection of Tone 7, at the threshold of Spirit, we saw stairs that continued on into the realm of Spirit. Descending stairs are the illustration of the Human experience. In the Balance, an Unseen Force draws us to Higher, just like the force of gravity that pulls us down.

The Transformation is carried out by a Divine Agency. We pushed and Intention of Creation to the limits of Human Faith. Through the Intention of Divine Justice, a Power Above will carry our Dreams the rest of the way to a New Light of Believing.

HOLY DAY: INITIATION OF THE MAYAN PRIEST
8 Deer/MANIK is the Holy Day of a Divine Initiation. Through the first season of the Tzolk’in, we’ve been raised to a Higher Consciousness of the Divine Human Beings we were designed to be. All things are created for a meaning and purpose. We don’t imagine a Dream unless we have a Reason for the end. We were born as the Scion to reflect the Creator’s Highest Light on Earth. Deer/MANIK guides the Mission of the Mayan priest. Through a dedicated Mission to carry out the prayers, rituals, and sacred ceremonies at an altar, our Light would shine a way for the Whole to find the never-ending Truth of Love and the Provision for a Life defined by a Divine Meaning and Purpose.

8 Deer / MANIK – A Walk with a Supreme Creator: Day 8 of 13

THE TRECENA OF SUN/AHAU

8 Deer / MANIK

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

8 Deer/MANIK initiates a Transformation by Seeing and Believing. The Peak Tone 8 represents the Zenith Hour of the Sun’s Illumination.

Every Transformation is built upon the Higher Ground of our last Ascension. In the last trecena of the Tzolk’in we were guided by the Deer/MANIK. The Intention of MANIK’s trecena of “Light” was to inspire us with a Divine Meaning and Purpose To Be. We Ascended with the Truth that we were given all the Spiritual Tools we need to carry out the mission, along with a Divine Provision of Unconditional Love for every Human limitation.

Regenerated by the Lightning of Storm/CAUAC we were Delivered into the Light. Our hearts were turned to a “Home” within, an altar where the Power of Love would be forged for the Unbridled Freedom To Be.

Deer/MANIK gave us a Sacred Mission of Divine Power… through a Choice to sacrifice our Free Will to the Divine Will of the Creator. Offering our Most Sacred Right To Be, the Love between the Above and the Below would manifest a magnetic force of Light through the darkness of our Unknown.

On the Peak Tone 8, Deer/MANIK returns in its Zenith Light to manifest the Wisdom of its Truth – the Truth of the Love that is Balanced between the Above and the Below, and the magnetic Power of Love. MANIK holds the Gift of Harmonic Resonance, a Pure Vibration of Love that draws Human Consciousness to the One Divine Song of the Universe.

HOLY DAY: Initiation/Celebration of the Mayan Priest
The Holy Days of the Tzolk’in are said to mark milestones in the lives of Human. The Maya routinely observe their Sacred Ceremonies and Celebrations on the 8th and 9th Tones, which are acknowledged as the Most Sacred Numbers. Tone 8 is the Number of “Pure Spirit.” 8 is the Number of that reflects the Creator’s Highest Intention of Divine Justice. 8 represents the Infinity of the Creator’s Love and its Power and Intention to raise our Faith to Believing. The Holy Day of 8 Deer/MANIK is a Celebration of the Energy of the Mayan priest, and a Day of Initiation for those who have Chosen to Dedicate themselves to Serve at an altar on behalf of the Whole.

8 Deer / MANIK – A Revelation of Light: Day 8 of 13

THE TRECENA OF SUN/AHAU

8 Deer / MANIK

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

Peak Tone 8 begins the Transformation phase of the trecena. Our Growth phase was compared to a climb, and Transformation compared to a descent. We powered the way up. An Unseen Power will draw us forward the rest of the way. Tone 8 holds the Intention of Divine Justice. Our “descent” illustrates the Unseen Power of Divine Intervention.

When we move into Tone 8 we’re engaged into higher gear. The Human effort of Will receives its Sacred Exchange. The steps we take will carry us farther through the collaboration of a Divine Agency. (The Peak Tones of every trecena are the Times we are operating at Peak Performance. Mayan teachers leaned toward Tones 8 and 9 for scheduling events. The Peak Tones 6, 7, 8, and 9 are days human can seize for important actions and communications.)

Each of the Tones reflect hours of Sunlight from 5am to 5pm. Human was born to Create in the Light. Through the human circadian cycle, our bodies are designed to perform in synchronicity with the Light. The hours of Light from Sunrise to Sunset reflect 12 hours, 12 Tones, Vibrations of Creation. The 13th Tone of Ascension represents the completion of 7 days and 6 nights. On the 13th Tone of Ascension, “the 7th day” we are connected to see what we’ve created together. The 7th day we rest and celebrate, “This is good.”

Every Ascension is built on the Higher Ground of the last trecena. Deer/MANIK was the Day Sign that guided our last journey. MANIK returns on Tone 8 to complete its Meaning and Purpose. We’re reminded on the Holy Day that the Truth we see will never be Unseen. We never lose the Higher Ground we’ve reached by Intention. We will never go back to seeing things as they were before, once we are Conscious of the Truth. Each new Truth is a permanent Light to our path.

The Maya see Tone 7 of Reflection as the threshold of Spirit, their closest place to the sky. Though the energy is one of a descent, the Maya reflect on a mirror image of the stairs that continue upward into the realm of Spirit.  Tone 8’s “gravity” of an Unseen Divine Power is actually drawing us to a Higher Place.

HOLY DAY OF THE TZOLK’IN
Most of the Mayan celebrations, ceremonies and festivals are carried out on Tone 8. On Tone 8 the Intentions Above and Below are in Balance with each other. The zenith hour is the zero point between darkness and light. Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign of the Mayan priest, given the Mission to serve as the Hand of God on Mother Earth. MANIK reflects the Meaning and Purpose given to Human. Deer’s Mission is our Reason to Be. The Maya observe 8 Deer/MANIK as a Day to Honor the Meaning and Purpose of our Divine Destiny. Today is the Initiation Day for those who have dedicated themselves into service. 8 Deer/MANIK carries out the Initiation of the Mayan priest.
