Moon, Venus, and Mars – Source: SkyWalk

Greetings Beloved Kin,

The sky will offer a beautiful view tonight of Venus and Mars next to the Moon. Starwalk is one of my favorite Apps. When I first studied astronomy in Tucson, we had to figure out “what it is” from a star map of surrounding constellations (that was 2006). Now, all you have to do is aim your phone to a star.

PS. HAPPY GLOBAL BURNER DAY! This is a good day to toss your worries in a fire and let it go for good! The sacred fires are burning in the Maya lands today with prayers for the whole. When you create an experience for the Intention, your subconscious records it as the truth.

Below is Skywalk Astronomical News for June 2023 AND another attraction worth seeing near Route 66.

Greetings Beloved Kin,

My thoughts must have been led off-track on the Holy Days. The BIG Next Thing is TODAY. I’m grateful God Created Timing that’s beautiful.

There’s a Global Burner day in the center of each season of the Tzolk’in (as well as the center of our personal round from our Mayan birthday.) Global Burner’s mark the Time of a major release of residual energies of our past season. The tradition carries on in the Maya lands. The Mayan priest carries out the sacred fire ceremony on behalf of the whole. The presence of the “smoke of prayers” and the smell of copal serve as a signal to the whole of the one who is praying on behalf of the whole. (The Mayan priest isn’t a preacher per se, but a solitary one who counts the days, and carries out the sacred ceremonies as they are ordered by Time.)

GLOBAL BURNER: Sacred Fire Ceremonies

The Element of Fire

Fire holds the power of transmutation, able to change the form and structure of other Elements. Honoring Fire as a Sacred Element through which we can purify and release those things that no longer serve. On the traditional Medicine Wheel path we bring our prayers of tobacco to send up the smoke of our prayers. We offer blessings to honor and feed it. Traditional gifts are chocolate or raw liver. What we bring to the fire is released into the Hands of the Creator. We feed the Fires of Creation.

There are many traditional ways of Sacred Fire Ceremony. The Maya and Native American tradition lay a circle of cornmeal and mark the 4 directions with the cross made of tobacco. The Mayan incorporate candles, sugar, flowers, and consecrate the Earth with tequila. Prayers are offered to the 4 directions, for the Inspiration of the East, the Relationships of the South, the Unknown Journey of the West, and the Wisdom of the North.

As an offering for the Global Burner day, the Fire Ceremony page offers a way to observe a sacred fire ceremony indoors.
