MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Galactic Tone 10 relates to the materialization of substance, expression, beauty, and potential. Tone 10 is the frequency that allows us to experience beauty of all kinds.
Monkey/CHUEN demonstrates our Power to Manifest through play. As we hold the Intention of our Dream, we’re guided to experience our Creation through the eyes of a child.
Monkey is the Day Sign of High Magic. In the order of the Day Signs, Monkey is in Position 11. The Master Number 11 symbolizes spiritual awakening, intuition, and self-expression, and the number of the mystic.
The Ancient Alchemists knew our greatest Power of Visualization must be carried by the energy of Artful Play. Play releases us from the faculties of reason. We can operate from a place where no limit or judgement is placed on our performance to Dream our Creation.
Monkey is a Creator who plays with ideas. Monkey curiously follows a trail of Beauty and Love. Monkey is the Weaver of Time who sees the whole picture of the tapestry of our lives.
Tone 10 is a Blessing with a Responsibility. We can only manifest what we see and claim. Tone 10 helps us to see the evidence of our transformation. Monkey/CHUEN guides us to see how all of our experiences are woven together.
On Tone 10 we might notice change in our responses. In the 12th uinal of Understanding, we are beginning to see the Truth of a Spiritual Harvest. As old parts of us are dying away, we are reborn to a new “I Am.” A new understanding or truth has changed the way we feel about something. “Once you’ve seen it, you can’t “unsee” it.”
In the world, we assess our progress by what we can see, feel and touch. The progress of our Spirit’s Mission won’t be found in a material acquisition, but in a new identity of Being. The last two uinals are producing the Fruit of a New Spirit. This is a time of major change and a new empowerment of Self.
Monkey/CHUEN sees the beauty of Time. Human is the only one of God’s creations capable to travel through time. We can return to any time we’ve experienced. We can even change our past by choosing the threads we would pull to the surface. We hold the power to change the way we’ve always seen our self and others.
Nearing the end of the Tzolk’in round we have a lot of changes we can look back on. The “wave” of the 260-days is a force already in progress. We are ripening on the vine. A dedicated daily journal has been the greatest contribution in seeing my own change.
Before, my life seemed more like a “loop” than a “spiral.” I would climb the same mountains, and with each setback, feel I was all the way back at the beginning again. My seeds of Forgiveness never had a good place to grow. They only reproduced the same resentments. I was caught as a victim of powerlessness in endless cycles of trying over and over again.
You will see your own change by taking a journey into the past. A very small truth has the power to change everything.
One of my first breakthroughs was becoming Conscious of my “unconscious rules.” I was teaching myself to paint. I had an idea that I wanted to sketch on canvas, but thought that would be “cheating.” I’ve never had a “lesson” on painting. It surprised me that I’d never even questioned this “rule.” I became curious about what other rules might be in play. One that literally changed my life was a rule I’d created about this journal. The first round was a 260-day commitment that would take a dedicated effort to accomplish. I was afraid, not having any idea what I’d have to write about tomorrow. I created a rule that the journal must be written after midnight, so that the inspiration happened on exactly the same day as the post. My regular work starts at 7AM. For the first 3 months of this journal I was flying out of bed at 3AM, hoping beyond hope I could come up with something in 4 hours. Thank God I discovered this rule. I wasn’t limited to a “time slot” for inspiration. I could write anytime I wanted to and schedule it to post at midnight. There was actually a benefit to writing early. It helped me see where the energies of one day flowed into the intentions of the next.
Monkey/CHUEN holds the Power to Create by being Conscious of Time. We can only create what we imagine. To create anything we have to see into the future. My fundamental fear was that I could never become what I am capable to be. I created a framework of limitations based on illusion that I was incapable to change.
Monkey shifts our attention from self-judgement to curiosity. Monkey weaves the thoughts of our experiences. CHUEN offers a way to see our change by looking to our past and our future. We can see the old threads of understanding that are no longer relevant to the picture. Our most important Truth is that we ARE changing. Monkey shares the freedom to change on any given day into who we want to be. We can become anything we imagine through an Intention to find a way.
My journey to Higher Consciousness has become a process of tracking my unconscious thoughts and fears. I started from the most basic Truth I could believe – that God Loved Me. Establishing my Truth of Divine Intervention, a new road opened before me. Monkey invites us on a walk through time to discover the curiosities within our ways of thinking. We have the power to manifest what we can claim as our Real Truth.
We’ve been told that Human only uses 10% of the full capabilities of our mind. It’s among the mysteries that science is still trying to understand. I figured it out for myself after 3 rounds of the Tzolk’in. It’s for THINKING. We literally forget to think. Like Christs words of forgiveness, “they know not what they do.”
Our Human Nature is actually inclined to allow others to think for us. Somewhere we created a “rule” that to be loved, we must be the same.
The Cherokee Day Sign for Chuen is the Raccoon, known as the friendly trickster. Raccoon likes to poke a little fun, teaching us to see the humor in our discoveries. Don’t overlook a truth because it looks small and insignificant. Given a little time we could discover it’s a life-changer.
To all my relations, may Monkey remind us of the Gift of thinking for our self. Monkey guides us to look at ourselves with a sense of curiosity. We can see something today that has been unseen. Our Spiritual Transformation is accomplished through very small changes. A Creator who wanted our greatest happiness made it easy. Our most important truths will be easy to see. We won’t even need to defend that they are true, because we’ll Know it. May we inspect the threads of our life story and change our past by pulling the most beautiful threads to the surface. May we say goodbye to old memories that were no more than an unconscious illusion. Just as we can believe we are influenced by unknown thoughts, so may we believe we are Influenced by the unknown Power of Divine Intervention.

10 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/ KVH’LI)
Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart. Totem Monkey: The energy of humor, the artisan and craftsmen of the Universal energy. Helps us to lighten up in all situations, was the glyph of the 4th world creation in conjunction with OC so that we would have humor in all of our endeavors. The humor, when added to a serious situation will allow you to have a less destructive pattern of resolution. This is the “Cosmic joke” energy to help us transcend the duality. A life path of comedian, actor, artist, artisan writer, satirist, any path is enhanced with this humor in conjunction with the creative energies.
