2 Wisdom/CIB – Cleared, Empowered and Supported

THE TRECENA OF EAGLE/MEN

2 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl/U’GUKU’)

2 Wisdom/CIB

2 Wisdom/CIB

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.

Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons. A good day to sit on a rock.

Cleared, Empowered and Supported

The work of Galactic Tone 2 is about making choices. The Eagle/MEN trecena empowers us to seek our highest aspirations. It’s unlikely that our biggest dreams can be completed in 13 days, but may require many cycles of 13 days. Much perseverance will be required for us to get there. As the trecena of our spiritual growth, we are shown that our first and most important step will be our inner work.

We may reflect on what has prevented us from reaching for this goal before. Maybe we started, but abandoned our dream when we didn’t see immediate results. Or, maybe we were discouraged by others who either couldn’t see our vision; or, due to their own feelings of limitation, others didn’t see our dreams as even possible. Whatever it is that has prevented us from seeking our highest dreams is likely to be a source of personal suffering and blame that we must be rid of in order to move on.

The Wisdom/CIB glyph illustrates the mind in a state of forgiveness and enlightenment. It is a brain with rays expanding in all connections. CIB guides us to forgive ourselves and others for our shortcomings. We are released from our own transgressions to the extent that we are able to forgive others of theirs.

Working together with someone who shares our dream offers us the advantage of a different perspective and the staying power of a mutual commitment. Eagle brings us the opportunity to connect with our Spirit helpers so we need never walk alone.

To all my relations, may we enter a place of silence within so we may hear the voices that guide us. May CIB give us the power of discernment to recognize the leadings of the Divine Spirit. May we surrender our disappointments and sorrow to Divine Will, so that we are freed from the suffering of our resentments.

1 Eagle/MEN – Seeking Our Highest Aspirations

THE EAGLE/MEN TRECENA

1 Eagle/MEN (Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI)

1 Eagle/MEN

1 Eagle/MEN

Galactic Tone 1:  Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Eagle/MEN: Intermediary between Heaven and Earth. Due to the Eagles superior point of view and keen intelligence, they achieve material abundance and good fortune. A messenger gifted with patience and a deep sense of value, Eagle brings hope and trust on the wings of Spirit. Eagle persons are very detail oriented and technically inclined. Compassionate service to others sustains prosperity for Eagle persons as the flapping of wings would sustain their bird brothers. If Eagle becomes viciously competitive or possessive, greed and jealousy cause a fall from the heights. Eagles, being blessed with freedom of movement, should be aware of escapism. Eagles may be tempted to just fly away from troubles by using indulgences.

Seeking our Highest Aspirations

black hawk eagle

Guatemalan Black-Hawk Eagle (Spizaetus tyrannus)

At Galactic Tone 1 we begin again. Tone 1 is the day to consider our intentions for the Eagle/MEN trecena. Eagle prepares the way for a journey of Spiritual Illumination. Totem Eagle is revered as the creature capable to soar to the heights of the heavenly realm to hear the voice of the Divine Spirit.

With Eagle vision we are empowered to see hidden spiritual truth and the unseen forces that guide our way. Guided by Eagle/MEN, we are carried on a flight of Spirit that draws us into closer connection with the Divine Spirit, our spirit guides, and teachers. Eagle/MEN is considered a Day Sign of luck and success in business as we are given the advantage of seeing outcomes on the far horizon.

We are led to take on the Warrior Spirit of Eagle/MEN to pursue our “highest hopes and anticipations, dreams and visions, cosmic consciousness and commitment.”

When the Eagle knows what it wants, it has the piercing vision to seek it out and the power of movement to go after it. Eagle’s unlimited movement means we can cover new ground and reach for the dreams we never pursued because we thought they were out of reach.

To all my relations, as we reflect on our intentions for the Eagle/MEN trecena may we be open to all possibilities. As we consider “what do I want” may we cast off the limits we set for ourselves in the past so we can see just how far the Eagle can take us. Up in the heavenlies we have all the help we need.

13 Jaguar/IMIX – Raised Up

THE TRECENA OF WIND/IK

13 Jaguar/IX (Cherokee, Panther/SAHO’NI)

13 Jaguar/IX

13 Jaguar/IX

Galactic Tone 13: Ascension. Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.

Jaguar/IX: Born with a deep love of the Mother Earth, Jaguar or shaman is directly tied to the source of all Earth magic. They possess great power of intellect and strength or character through integrity. Jaguar energy is feminine in nature and is the ruling spirit of jungles, plains, and mountains. The spirit of Jaguar inhabits the Mayan temples and is called on to assist in spiritual as well as in material ways. Jaguar is also the god/goddess of gratefulness. Patience born of strength and skill can turn to pounce of quick decision and action. Both bold and stealthful, Jaguars do not often attack directly and communications from them usually contain some mystery. In the absence of integrity, Jaguars power corrupts becoming a search for wealth and fame.

Cherokee, Panther/SAHO’NI: Panther is symbolized by comets, meteors, shooting stars, fireballs, and magicians.  Meteors appearing around the middle of November are Heralds of the Coming of the Light, the Cherokee New Year. Panther is the Shadow of the Sphinx, Herald of the Dawn, guardian of the night when the sun is traveling through the underworld. Panthers have unlimited imaginations, visualizations, and are spellbinding speakers. The Totem Jaguar is the guardian of the portals to other dimensions; shamanic abilities will open; multi-dimensional magic; healer, leader, way shower energy when used for spiritual growth.  Abuse would be for using this power for control or negative purposes; must find a powerful balance.

See the 13-Day Trecena Guide for insight on personal ceremony.

Daykeeper’s Journal:

Raised Up

At Galactic Tone 13 our ascension is guided by energies outside of ourselves as a ray of universal movement. Comparing the trecena with the movement of a clock, the minute hand illustrates our incremental movements forward. As the minute hand reaches the hour, the hour hand is engaged to advance forward. All the minutes have come together to form a new hour and time ascends to its next higher level.

At Tone 13 we engage the movement of the “trecena hand.” Incremental processes are bundled as a completed trecena and raised up to become part of universal consciousness. The changes we have been creating in ourselves now affect a universal change. All of creation is impacted by the power of this dynamic movement. As a result, we may experience sudden and radical shifts in consciousness.

On the 13th Tone of the Wind/IK trecena our ascension is guided by one of the most Spiritual signs of the Tzol’kin. By opening the portal to other dimensions, Jaguar/IX presents the potential for profound spiritual advancement. As described by Cherokee Panther/SAHO’NI,  shamanic abilities will open us to multi-dimensional magic that empowers us to become healers, leaders, and way showers for spiritual growth. As a symbol of patience found through gratitude, Jaguar calls us to the intention of being grateful. The joy of our gratitude is the emotion that reaches the heart of the Divine Spirit.

To all my relations, may we be grateful for powerful unseen forces that are operating with us and on our behalf. May we remember the power that is always available to us. May we draw near the Creator to express our gratitude for the way that has been prepared for us.

11 Road/EB – Clearing the Way

THE TRECENA OF WIND/IK

11 Road/EB (Cherokee, Rattlesnake Tooth/KANU’GA)

11 Road/EB

11 Road/EB

Galactic Tone 11: Resolution; 11 assists every new thing to find its place in the universe in the process of ‘fitting in.’ some modifications must occur. Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions facilitating change, simplification and improvement.

Road/EB: The bearer of time and conductor of destiny; also known as Human; these persons open the road and guide to the future groups, communities and individuals alike. Likable, obedient, dedicated hard workers and organizers, Road persons are fortunate in business and travel. Many become care takers of the poor, sick, or old people, where they may make personal sacrifices. Road is sometimes referred to as the sign of grass, which is the most bountiful of all life forms, but is also the most humble. Road persons are affectionate and emphatic; they are easily hurt but slow to anger. Holding in of negative emotions and unexpressed resentment can lead to illness, a poisoned opinion of others and a false bravado for this sun sign.

Cherokee, Rattlesnake Tooth/KANU’GA: Symbolized by a rainbow, the delicate display of electromagnetic rays of the SUN. Rattlesnake Tooth is the Natal day sign of Medicine, the Shaman, the Priest, the Healer, and the Sorcerer.  Guardian of the Way, Keeper of the Keys of the secret Kingdom.

See the 13-Day Trecena Guide if you’re following along with the trecena.

Daykeeper’s Journal:

Clearing the Way

Road/EB relates to our earthly walk and reminds us that our destiny depends on the paths we choose. Bringing any new idea or creation to life requires us to make changes. As we are changed, we take on new perspectives that lead us in new directions.

Dealing with change can be uncomfortable, stressful or even scary at times as we must travel through new and uncharted territory. Integrating change requires a reallocation of our time and attention. Galactic Tone 11 helps us to make the necessary adjustments so that there is room in our lives for change to be established.

The Wind/IK trecena shows us that the vital energy needed to fulfill our life’s purpose is found when we are grounded in our relationship with Divine Spirit. We have learned that by surrendering all our plans and intentions to Divine Will, we become empowered co-creators. When we are as one with the Creator, each step we take serves a divine purpose. What we may have seen as our failures can now be seen as divine guidance. And, above all, we have been shown we are loved unconditionally.

To all my relations, may we always remember that we have nothing to fear when we are surrendered to the will of the Divine Spirit. May we see that above all, God would have us know we are loved and that a way ahead is always prepared for us when we choose the path of beauty.

THE TRECENA OF WIND/IK

10 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/ KVH’LI)

10 Monkey/CHUEN

10 Monkey/CHUEN

Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.

Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart. Totem Monkey: The energy of humor, the artisan and craftsmen of the Universal energy. Helps us to lighten up in all situations, was the glyph of the 4th world creation in conjunction with OC so that we would have humor in all of our endeavors. The humor, when added to a serious situation will allow you to have a less destructive pattern of resolution. This is the “Cosmic joke” energy to help us transcend the duality. Manifesting Beauty

Galactic Tone 10 relates to the materialization of substance, expression, beauty, and potential realized. At Tone 10 we shift from outward experiences to inner reflection. Tone 10 has been defined as “the frequency that allows us to tune in to beauty of all kinds.” Tone 10 asks us to assess what we have created.

As Master of all Arts, Chuen reveals the beauty of EVERY THING. Both dark and light are necessary values for contrast. Just as beauty is defined in the eyes of the beholder, we must make our personal assessment outside the influence of limiting world opinions. Tone 10 also cautions us to be careful in our judgement, for we will manifest what we believe is true.

Both Chuen and Raccoon are creative, charming, and fun loving. Approaching life as a game full of fun and adventure, we too, can find the beauty in every experience.

To all my relations, may we be filled with joy and gratitude as we look upon the BEAUTY we have created. May we see the beauty in the process that ever draws us closer to the Divine Spirit.

9 Dog/OC – We Are Loved

THE TRECENA OF WIND/IK

9 Dog/OC (Cherokee, Wolf/KANA’TI)

9 Dog/OC

9 Dog/OC

Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.

Dog/OC: Courageous, loyal and warm-hearted, very alert and valiant, people born of Dog are respected for their sense of justice and their protection. People born of the sun sign Dog are very sensual and know how to enjoy life. Playfulness and a good understanding of the basic human nature lead to prosperity for Dog. Dogs are good team players who love to travel and have a keen sense of their position in society. Dogs are ambitious and will take opportunities when they offer themselves, including infidelities. Dog persons share the nature of coyotes, spies, wolves and lawyers.

Cherokee, Wolf/KANA’TI: Wolf is symbolized by Sirius (Dog star) and Antares, one or the other always visible but never at the same time.  Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots.  All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance.  Wolves are a connecting link between the worlds; ones who inspire loyalty, diplomacy and sense of humor with unlimited potential.  Wolf is the Day Sign of teachers, healers, pathfinders and transformers; sharp as obsidian, gentle as a lamb. OC-Totem –Dog:  Loyalty and faithfulness that survives beyond death.  This was the first day of creation energy in this 4th world, sets the energy for love, loyalty and faithfulness on the 5200 year cycle.  Heart chakra energy is involved so that we can move to the state of “unconditional love” with compassion.  All sexual desire issues that are not in harmony will surface to be cleared.

See the 13-Day Trecena Guide if you’re following along with the trecena.

Daykeeper’s Journal:

We Are Loved

Galactic Tone 9 asks us to be patient. Through the Wind/IK trecena we have been in the perpetual process of balancing and re-balancing ourselves as we are undergoing changes. As we are changed, we see our world from a new perspective and have discovered new Truth. Though, we have yet to see how our new understanding may play out. We are asked to take our solace in the bigger picture.

Every change is a new beginning with new challenges and a new set of unknowns. We may worry that we are not enough or even worthy of something better. We may be tempted to look back at what we have seen as our failures and wonder how this time could be different.

Along comes Dog/OC to share his compassion and unconditional love. We can find our joy in patience when we are grounded in the Love of the Divine Spirit. Dog/OC reminds us of the simple joys of life and of all the opportunities around us from which to find our joy in living. As Dog/OC we don’t have to take ourselves so seriously. We can look up to see the wonder of life as an adventure. Being patient doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. In fact, Dog/OC would have us believe that’s our first priority.

To all my relations, let us not be so focused on the process that we miss the simple joys of living. Through our surrender we can rest in the peace that heavenly forces are in charge and that we are never alone. May we know we are perfect in the eyes of the Creator and always loved exactly as we are.

Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine, plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.

Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.

Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement, of perpetual motion, recycling, regeneration; environmentalists fighting for the underdog. Heron is mentally alert, rational, yet opinionated; has a great faith in people and in the divine plan, holding the magic of ministry, medicine, marketing and matchmaking; healing abilities, especially with crystals; negotiation and mediation energy. Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way. “The Northern Cross is the Tree of Life, Beside the Milky Way River & Perched atop is Guwi’ sguwi, the Cherokee Heron Spirit Bird, comparable to the Egyptian Phoenix. One Myth has it that a Beautiful Young Maiden (the Heron Spirit Bird) fell from the Tree of Life in the Sky Vault, & Found no Place to Land on the Primordial Sea. Turtle came to the Surface of the Water & gave her a Place to Land. She nested & Laid her Cosmic Egg, From which came all Life on Earth.” (Cherokee Astrology: Animal, Medicine in the Stars, Raven Hail)

Letting Go

Tone 9 is a day of peak energy in the 13-day trecena of Offering/MULUC. Muluc is a symbol for the emotions and all water – from the oceans and rivers to the water of our own tears. Muluc guides us to surrender ourselves as an offering – to let go of our control. Galactic Tone 9 presents us with the power to persevere. We are given the patience we need to see the bigger picture, and to know the Truth that we are loved and cared for by a power greater than ourselves.

Earth/CABAN connects us to the perpetual motion of every living thing. When we follow in the footsteps of Caban, we become one with the natural forces of nature. We are able to see our connection in the continuing flow of life, through personal, planetary, and universal cycles within cycles of life, death and regeneration. When we let go, we are empowered as we become one with the sacred flow of life’s perpetual movement.

To all my relations, help me to see where I am still holding on to my own way. Help me to release my attachment to how things should be, so that I may experience in full measure the peace and joy of your abiding Love.

A STORY ABOUT LETTING GO

Once there lived a village of creatures along the bottom of a great crystal river. The current of the river swept silently over them all — young and old, rich and poor, good and evil — the current going its own way, knowing only its own crystal self.

Each creature in its own manner clung tightly to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of life, and resisting the current was what each had learned from birth.

But one creature said at last, “I am tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going. I shall let go, and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom.”

The other creatures laughed and said, “Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed against the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!”

But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks.

Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more.

And the creatures downstream, to whom he was a stranger, cried, “See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the messiah, come to save us all!”

And the one carried in the current said, “I am no more messiah than you. The river delights to lift us free, if only we dare let go. Our true work is this voyage, this adventure.”

But they cried the more, “Savior!” all the while clinging to the rocks, and when they looked again he was gone, and they were left alone making legends of a savior.

5 Reed/BEN

5 Reed/BEN

Galactic Tone 5: Empowerment. At the center of the cube we find Five. Five is an intelligent, organizing force which manages communications and materials, knowledge and application. Fives are natural networkers who gather what is needed. These persons can probe directly to the core of any situation making them excellent investigators.

Meeting our Needs

The Tzolk’in is the sacred calendar of creation. The 13 Galactic Tones guide us through a process. At step 1 we are guided by inspiration from Spirit to choose an idea or intention that we would desire to bring to life. The following Tones illustrate a sequence of steps for our accomplishment. The Day Sign provides us with a role model – an example of a perspective or an approach that we can follow.

At 5 Reed/BEN, Tone 5 presents the time for our empowerment. Empowerment is defined as an accomplished state of self-responsibility and self-determination. Reed/BEN shows us that the way to be empowered is by seeking our connection to Spirit. All our needs are satisfied as we present them to the Creator through our prayers and offerings. When we know the Truth that Spirit may provide our every need, we will gain a new confidence. We must learn by doing. It is our own responsibility to seek the power of Spirit.

To all my relations, may I be grateful that I never have to walk alone, and that a way to be connected to Spirit is always present and available. When I choose to seek that connection and surrender my own will to the Creator, I am empowered by the Truth that I am given everything I need.

Divine Guidance

The Day Sign of Road/EB represents our daily walk – the path we follow to reach our own destiny. Galactic Tone 4, the Tone of stability, helps us to find our bearings. Under the trecena of Offering/MULUC we are learning how we may be reconciled to God when we surrender ourselves through the sacred exchange of an offering.

As we surrender our will to the Creator, the path of beauty is illuminated by a Divine Light. When we are divinely guided, we come from a place of Love; we are lifted up, empowered and affirmed in our power as a spiritual being. We can see beyond the fear of thinking we are too much, or too little. We are able to move more easily through the circumstances of our lives with a Divine Purpose that serves others as well as ourselves.

When we seek Divine Guidance, we can know that we are never alone. And, we can see how our dreams may serve the greater good of all.

To all my relations, may I be grateful for the Divine Spirit that is present to share my daily walk. May I be grounded in the unconditional love to see how my path might serve to share the light of your Love.

3 Monkey/CHUEN – Offering of Tears

THE TRECENA OF OFFERING/MULUC

3 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI)

3 Monkey/CHUEN

3 Monkey/CHUEN

Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI:  Racoon’s star symbol is Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy. Magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart. Offering of Tears

Monkey/CHUEN is the Master of all Arts. Artistic expression takes on many forms, whether it is painting, writing, composing music or one of the thousands of other ways that people express themselves. Art is an outward expression drawn from Spirit. CHUEN guides us to see our offering as a living expression of art that connects us to Divine Spirit.

Under the guidance of the Muluc trecena we are learning about the power of a sacred exchange. Muluc is symbolized by water and is a Day Sign representing the element of Fire. We enter into the presence of the Divine Spirit through the expression of our emotions. Our tears are Holy Water.

The Cherokee symbol of raccoon embodies the yearning for long-lost love. Our feelings that we are alone and somehow disconnected is the source of all suffering. We are reconciled through the offering of our brokenness. Through the expression of our deepest emotions we are fully present where we can acknowledge at a soul level that we are entering into a direct communication with God.

Today is a day to breath life into our offering. Tone 3 is the first day of movement. Our dreams and intentions are brought to life as we set them into motion. Through movement, our dreams and intentions become a living vibration.

To all my relations, through humility and the sorrow of my disconnectedness, may I be reconnected to the Divine. May I know that through my prayers and offerings I am entering into the very presence of God. May I be purified by the water of my own tears.

In lak’ech, I am another you,
