4 Jaguar / IX – Recreating our World: Day 4

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

4 Jaguar/IX

4 Jaguar/IX

Greetings Kin,

Tone 4 brings the Intention of Stability by establishing a sense of orientation. The number 4 is related to the 4 directions and the 4 dimensions of height, length, depth and breadth of the cube – the most stable of geometric forms.

The purpose of Jaguar/IX is to help us set the parameters within which we are capable to Manifest an Intention of Right Relationship with one another and the world. Love is always a stabilizing force. The Jaguar is most noted for its Love of Mother Earth.

Jaguar guards the Sacred Sites where offerings are given and communion is sought with the Creator. These sites mark places of Spiritual Consciousness where Human has called for Communion with Spirit. By drawing the Mother’s Living Consciousness, this is where Jaguar senses the beating Heart of the Mother.

The Jaguar lives independently, except for the purpose of procreation. With Mother Earth as its primary companion, the Jaguar acknowledges Her as the Source of every blessing. As a Day Sign of the North, and acknowledged as the most Spiritual of all Day Signs, Jaguar represents a State of Spiritual Wisdom.

The Jaguar is a magical animal totem, or nuhaul, that is known as a shape-shifter.  Like the Monkey, the Jaguar holds special powers of Time Travel. The Jaguar is capable to lead us beyond the veil to share a Vision of the Future. We will find our stability by following the ways of the Jaguar.

3 Reed / BEN – Recreating our World: Day 3

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

3 Reed/BEN

3 Reed/BEN

Greetings Kin,

Tone 3 presents our first day of Movement in the Monkey/CHUEN trecena. Guided by Reed/BEN our awareness is drawn to a channel of communication that connects us with the Divine. The Reed glyph illustrates an altar by its horizontal line. The vertical columns above are like the hollow-tubes of Reed through which Spirit Descends for a Divine Communion. And below, the prayer mats illustrate our way of entering into relationship is by kneeling in Humility.

Through a mindset of Humility we are fully open to receive Divine Guidance. We are able to set our reasoning mind aside in surrender to the reality that we don’t have all the answers. We can accept our imperfection. Seeing how our own thinking is often flawed by the ego, we can let go of our attachment to perfection.

Our visit to an altar within is a “time out.” This is a place we would expect to rest for a while, waiting silently for Divine Inspiration. The Monkey, who would inspect all the details with intent curiosity. Our inspiration requires our Presence in the Moment. On the first day of Movement, the Weaver of Time might slow us down to take all the time we need. Through Humility we are able to drawn down the Light of the Creator.

2 Road / EB – Recreating our World: Day 2

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

2 Road / EB

2 Road / EB

Greetings Kin,

Tone 2 brings an Energy for Discernment as we consider a new Sacred Intention. Monkey/CHUEN is leading a cycle of transformation that will raise our Consciousness to our Experience of Living. This is also Day 2 of a 21-day observance that acknowledges each of the 20 Days Signs that are leading us to a New Year. This is a time to consider a new effort to carry forward our integrity and authenticity of being.

Road/EB is the Day Sign of the Human. The glyph illustrates the Road of Destiny on Human’s head, to remind us that we are responsible for directing the course of our Life. Life is what we make it.

Tone 2 leads us to make a Choice. Tone 2 represents Duality, our Human way of seeing things as black or white, light or dark, and good or bad. In this choice we demonstrate the uniqueness of our “I Am.” Each of us sees things differently, based on our own life experiences. Tone 2 can bring a feeling of separation, as we are experiencing ourselves as different from the rest. Our choices become the way that we would be reunited with the Whole.

1 Monkey / CHUEN – Recreating our World: Day 1

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

1 Monkey/CHUEN

1 Monkey/CHUEN

Greetings Kin,

The next 13 days…

On 1 Monkey/CHUEN we begin again – a new day, a new trecena, and a new season are initiated at the Zero-Point of the Tzolk’in calendar. A Healing that raised Consciousness to our own Truth has prepared us to walk in a new way. The Monkey will be our role model and guide, and can help us see the Inherent Beauty of Living. CHUEN is a magical Day Sign that lives in a World of its own Imagination.

Monkey/CHUEN is the Master of all Art that weaves the tapestry of our lives. The Monkey can lead us to a Transformation that redefines the way we See the World.

21 DAYS of CEREMONY: 1 Monkey/CHUEN marks 21 days to the K’iche Maya New Year celebrated on 8 B’atz (8 Monkey/CHUEN). Observing 21 days of prayer and sacred ceremony is a traditional preparation for the observance of the Tzolk’in calendar New Year, which is also the Initiation of the Mayan Daykeepers.

CORE DAYS/ZERO POINT: Kins 121-140 represent the 7th Uinal of Balance, the Core Days of the Tzolk’in as observed by Yucatec tradition. Together, Dog/OC and Monkey/CHUEN reside at the Center of our own Universe and vortex of the Up Above, Down Below, and the All Around. Flint’s Truth helped us to recreate Our Self. Now, the Monkey/CHUEN can set the Wheel of Life into a new motion, so we can Recreate our World.

PEAK DAYS: The days of Peak Energy reflect a balance of Wisdom and Instinct within own Force of Nature.

  • 6 Wisdom/CIB guides a Way of Movement
  • 7 Earth/CABAN balances us through the Forces of Nature
  • 8 Flint/ETZNAB reflects the Truth of Divine Justice, and
  • 9 Storm/CAUAC calls us to an Inner World of Unbridled Freedom

13 Dog / OC – Ascension: Day 13

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

13 Dog / OC

13 Dog / OC

Greetings Kin,

13 Dog/OC is the Ascension Day of the Flint/ETZNAB trecena that Transformed the Ways we see our Self. By reflecting a Mirror Image, Flint brought the assessments of our Shadow into the Light. Our Shadow holds the Illusion that we are somehow unworthy.

We were empowered to Define our Own Truth and Choose our own “I Am.” Our Ascension transforms our Experience into Wisdom. At a Deeper Level we realize what the Gift of Free Will means.

Flint’s Healing was accomplished by clearing our Ego. As we release our judgement of good or bad, we can see that every part of us is Divine and Worthy of Becoming. Our Human Destiny is to reach beyond the capabilities of yesterday. Our challenges are only a reflection of what we are Capable to Overcome.

Our Ascension is guided by Dog/OC, the Day Sign of Unconditional Love. At the Center of the Tzolk’in, like a “crystal sword cast down the path of a lightning flash” Flint reveals Unconditional Love as our Perfect State of Being.

10 Deer / MANIK – Healing by Truth: Day 10

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

10 Deer/MANIK

10 Deer/MANIK

Greetings Kin,

On Tone 10 we are positioned to Manifest our Identity as who we Choose to Become. We are guided by the Extended Hand of the Creator. Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign of the Mayan Priest, the energy of one who serves to connect us to our Source of Divine Power.

Deer/MANIK is the bringer of Spiritual Tools. We are given a Way or a new Understanding, that we can carry with us and turn to when we need a helping Hand.

Tone 10 carries a personal responsibility. What we focus on becomes real. Deer/MANIK would guide us to see the Transformation that is becoming Real within ourselves.

The 7th Uinal of BalanceCORE DAYS: We are nearly to the half-way point of a journey through the void of our unknown. The 7th Uinal in the Center of the Tzolk’in is compared to our own axis mundi, the center of our own universe where we are always perfectly positioned at the center of the 4 directions. The axis is the “line around which any body rotates.” Like a spinning gyroscope, we find our balance in a relationship shared between the Above and the Below. Holding a focus within the center of our Self, we reside in the place of perfect balance.

9 Transformer / CIMI – Healing by Truth: Day 9

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

9 Transformer/CIMI

9 Transformer/CIMI

Greetings Kin,

Flint/ETZNAB’s Healing by Truth has raised our Consciousness to the Choice we have to Define who we are. The challenge that guided a cycle of Spiritual Growth brought Life to an Intention to Define our Self in the Truth WE Dreamed to Be. Reaching the top of the pyramid, we presented our Intention to a Divine Agency who will return Divine Justice to begin our Transformation.

Tone 9 brings the Intention of expanding our understanding by looking at the bigger picture. The leader of change, Transformer/CIMI, is empowered by Peak Energy to effect a Major Life Change within ourselves.

The CIMI glyph, illustrating the face of death, is the reminder that something always dies as something new is born. CIMI offers the Power and Intuition to seamlessly guide us through the chaos of our change as we leave parts of our Self behind. CIMI is the Day Sign of the Clairvoyant, assigned as the helper for Human’s life-changing transitions. Through a Spiritual Gift of Insight, CIMI manages change with the Countenance of Peace, knowing the insight for what to do will be presented as its needed.

4 Crocodile / IMIX – Healing by Truth: Day 4

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

4 Crocodile/IMIX

4 Crocodile/IMIX

Greetings Kin,

Tone 4 brings the stabilizing force for our regeneration. In a trecena that would restore us to the Integrity of our Spiritual Nature, we enter the Core Days of the Tzolk’in – the Womb of Creation where we receive the care of our primordial mother, Crocodile/IMIX.  The 7th Uinal, the center column of 20 Day Signs, brings the Higher Intention of establishing our Balance.

The center of the Tzolk’in reflects our own Tree of Life. The Maya believed this to be the axis mundi – the center of the world that connects Heaven and Earth and where the four directions meet. Here there is no Duality of Good or Bad, Dark or Light. We exist in the pure essence of Being.

tree-of-lifeThis is the place of the Great, “I Am.” The Tree of Life illustrates the communication from lower realms that ascends to higher ones and blessings from higher realms that descend to lower ones to be disseminated to all by the Fruit of its Branches. Cleared of our Karma, we are aligned for a Divine Re-Creation.

IMIX is a symbol of the Divine Feminine that holds the capability of Divine Discernment, Compassion, and Motherly Love. Crocodile/IMIX carries the memory of our initial creation and knows the Truth of what we are capable To Be. IMIX holds the responsibility for our nourishment and well-being, and reveals the Truth that’s needed to Live our Lives in a fullness of who we Really Are.
